Nikasil is OK if they survived the early days lots of the m60 motors died cause we used to have high levels of Sulphur in our gas, but if they survived, or were replaced afterwards, they should be fine. Mine is a nikasil block, runs like a champ.

I use searchtempest. Craigslist aggregater. I use ksl.com. Facebook is also pretty good, but if you are looking at a specific model, say 951, Facebook will have people who sort of know what they are talking bout thereby making it more difficult to find a screaming deal.
I'd be very interested to know if there is a good site specific to Denver, Phoenix, LA, San Francisco and Seattle. Something like a ksl for each of those cities.

Fucking crap, I'm in love. If only it were in the Hunter Green offered that year, but I'll take the Burgundy sister if I'm forced to.
Price is high if you ask me, but that seems to be this guy's schtick.

Sounds about right for retail on that car. 40 would probably buy it.
It's got a Sil Tehar plate on it.

Jake Raby rebuilt 996. 3.4->3.6L rebuild that includes more reliable internals (nickies, connecting rods, etc). Should be around 330bhp, mid-high 4s to 60mph. Not to mention a few hundred thousand miles of use.

I'm going to stir the pot a bit.
The best 10 year old car, for not much money, is the GT500.
I just sold one, with 5k miles, for 30k. Thing was bitchin'.

Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
Damn that thing is 10 years old?
It looks like it is angry and wants to eat something.

Anyone used Bondo successfully for minor body work? The Xterra I bought earlier this year has a small ding I'd like to fix (see pic). My original plan was to use a paintless dent repair service for the dent and then repaint it myself, but those guys told me it's not in a good location. Full body shop fix is $500 so that's out. Thus, I'm considering the Bondo route.

^ That dent would still be pushed out some to get it close to but still lower than the rest of the panel before body filler is used. You're talking bumper removal, pushing on the sheet metal, sanding, filling, sanding, filling, painting, and buffing to make it right. Is the metal creased? Maybe have paintless dent repair do as well as they can and live with it?
GT500 undercover. I'll try and find some pictures.

OK. Here's a pro tip for old car purchases.
I just bought a used car from a dealer out of state. I asked the sales guy a million questions about the car, had him send pics, the whole thing. I was really comfortable with it. I specifically asked him if the car smelled like smoke.
"Nah! I'm an ex smoker and I'm sensitive to smoke smell"
I take the 6 hour train ride to the dealership. Inspect the car and the inside of the thing smells like 2 for 1 night at The Beaver Club. Fuckin perfume with a hint of ash tray. GODAMNIT!!! COCK SUCKER!! So close to walking away, but the car is everything I've been looking for. MUTHERFUCKER!!
I let em know I'm pissed. I take the car and leave. Drive the 7 hours home. Great car otherwise.
I hit the interwebs for car smell solutions ... and ... boom!
$70 Prime. Got it today and let it rip for a couple of hours on the interior. I cracked a window for some fresh O2. Put the air on recirc. Turned on the seat coolers to draw air into the cushions.
Swear to god the thing smells perfect. We'll see what tomorrow brings and how many times I have to repeat the process, but it was stupid easy and cheap. No smell from the machine itself. It just neutralizes stink.
Maybe even go with this one if you want to behead the remains.
Couple questions:
1) what'd ya get?
B) couldn't help but notice the "use in unoccupied space only" label on the ionizer.
iii) nothing worse than excess perfume scent. It's like living in a Yankee Candle Company store.
I still call it The Jake.
a) I'm in kid moving hell. So I bought a 2015 Kia Sorento. It does however have a 6 banger and all the electronic whiz bang shite (nav, leather, full glass roof, lane departure, blah). No one would be impressed by it, but damn if it isn't a great car. My second one. Latest reliability puts it side-by-side with Toyota.
2) It kicks out O3 (ozone). Not toxic, but irritating if exposed for a while. The ozone dissipates almost immediately upon turning off the machine and opening doors/windows.
iii) I'm picturing an epic showdown in my head. Invisible chemical carnage.
