Sounds awesome! Is there any better engine noise than a flat 6?

For me no, it's loud with throttle and quiet cruising. That 40 valve 8cylinder in the olf F355 is all time. Read an interesting article this week on why the sound of a flat six is unique.

    nerdspeak:
In the 911 Carrera S, none of the higher orders approach the loudness of the dominant third order, which explains the inline-six's smoother sound compared with the eight-cylinder engines.

Most sellers that price something that high will not negotiate and sit on the vehicle for a long time trying to sell it.
    What? KBB?

I guess you can always just go buy the other super clean 130k mile 80 Series?

That company knows exactly what that car is worth. They have 7-8 of them for sale.

I just bought this on Friday...
07 bmw 530 Xi with sport package for the wife to cart around kids. It is 9 years old, but close enough for this thread. It has 82k on it. $11500.
I think it is pretty fuckin nice for a 9 year old car. Also, I love silver with black interior, and the 5 series sports seats are incredible. I thought the 3 series sport seats were nice, these take it to a whole nother level.

    The 3.0 I6 is a good engine.

You don't get pulled over with that tinted plate cover?

1999 C2 with a newly rebuilt ~400hp n/a 3.8L. Sounds like it was a proper rebuild from the parts, that's a 15-25k job by itself.

Yeah, I don't normally like all that aero-kit but this one looks nicely balanced. Cool car.

my mechanic just found a $55 plastic hose that requires an engine drop to replace due to location (thanks Stuttgart!). It can wait a year or more with monitoring but not worth the worry. He has 2 356s and some 964s, 914s in process. Now I need to decide what preformance parts to swap while he's droppping the 3.6L thinking sway bars, intake manifold (x51 version), headers.

Already getting a tranny drop, so what the hell. Heres the full restoration 356, grundle shot

New pressurized oil fed IMS, same design as the Mezger style engines.

No need to replace, no known failures like the ones with bearings.

Got rid of the Z, picked up an older 996 Carrera out of a garage in Anaheim. Wasn't planning on making the switch this soon but unfortunately I drove the 911 and it played with emotions.. the year, condition, wheel/brake combo, color and price were perfect.
