want to buy a 2007 Pontiac solstice gxp with only 20,000 miles ? down here in texas, a convertible is a poor choice with the heat; thought I'd drive it more as I do love the car; but there's no such thing as top down when it's 95 degrees imo.

Buy a Toyota mrs. Looks kind of cool, mid engine, drop top, Toyota reliability. Should be pretty cheap I would imagine.

I loved the prior generation MR2, twin turbo was it? I definitely liked the design, targa/t-top as well.

I would rather have the cayman even though the boxster has grown on me over the years. if handed the money for either new, I would still rather get a sweet older off year 911 or 968 convertible.

I saw so many nice cars on the road today, but has anyone ever noticed that Lamborgini's come in the ugliest colors ever imagined? Isn't it showy enough that you're driving a car that's 250k+, why does it have to be the same color as a fucking Powerade?

Heh, yes. There's a toolbox that lives a neighborhood over with a smurf blue Gallardo Spyder. He fits the stereotype to a T - right down to wearing his Lambo hat and shirt every time he drives it. Tailgates like a motherfucker too on 25-35mph roads.

I know I'm in the minority here and will take some shit for saying this but I'd take a Boxster S over that Gaillardo Spyder all day long.

Well if it was powtiac (whitey).. Or pohtiac (honky)

Then I would have been racist towards whites. I didn't pick the name Pontiac.

    Not my fault

And one of Toyota's great motors. The long-shuttered Sport Compact Car magazine had a project MR2 for a number of years. In one installment, the project head described what felt like tires lifting off the road on roll-on acceleration. Wish they were a bit bigger. And still made.

A project MR-S also made it's way into the publication.

Edit - Looks like a guy graciously scanned and uploaded articles on the project MR2 to another forum.

Nice example of a 996.1 Aero on BaT. Factory LSD, thorough suspension upgrade, impressive car. Already near $22k with 6 days left... Owner is hoping for 30-33k. More than a newer, powerkit C4S that sold on BaT last month..

Hey BD - you seeing any decline in the 964 market in the near future? I've been trying to talk myself into a 997, but no luck so far.

    This is pretty nice:

But it's no match for this:

Bumping with a request to Beer Drinker to shed light on 964 market dynamic.

don't forget the dark horse option:

    - buy a 996 or 997 roller with low miles, heavily optioned
    - dole out $35k for a new GT3-Mezger 3.8L engine (400hp / ~300tq)
    - total cost = $42k or so

Should be about ~4.0 second 0-60 and 200mph top speed. Very reliable, durable enough to track consistently.
