Which one do you think is more stable? Which more loose?
They should be fairly comparable wrt looseness if you take their relative widths into consideration.

A 110 ski is usually more versatile, unless you prefer more weight and a wider platform.

The main difference is really in the flex pattern though - 116 should have slightly more supportive tails, the 110 a bit more stiffness in the forebody. Both def have a soft snow bias. If you want more umph and float, go 116 - especially if you ski from a more upright stance, or go 110 if you want something quicker edge to edge, and lighter that still skis soft snow better than a 110 ought to.

I prefer the 116 of the two, but I would prob prefer a 110 if it was my daily driver or the 116 if I had a narrower ski for low tide days.

I called the guys at ON3P and they said all their skis are shipped now with that base bevel vs the. 1 deg they used to ship with.
ah, interesting. Moment did the same last season, at least on their wider skis.

It would be too easy to make a cheap joke about them trying to bring the base bevel average back towards 1 degree, but really - it sounds like a good idea.

The grip my Mantra 102s offer with 1,3 degrees has convinced me that there’s few downsides for a freeride ski by going towards 1,5 degrees.

Did they say what they’re doing for side bevels? Still 1 degree?

I believe moment went to a 1.5 side bevel while keeping a 1 degree base.

Stand corrected. Pow skis are 1.3+ base and anything 108 or less is 1-1.2. Just found the post from Luke in August.

They said 1 deg on the side…

For me 1 deg on the base works for everything. I do have some beer league skis that came with .75 or .80 whatever..but they still work for me at 1 deg but I do set the sides at 3…

All this bevel talk has me hopping my woods 110s got the same tune as the factory haha. I was under the impressions pretty much everything came out with a 1 / 1 base and side bevel

Wren 102 for banger all rounder with a traditional mount

Wren 110 to hate fuck the entire mountain

Woods = half wren/ half Jeff

Jeff 108 for a easy to pilot progressive mounted all mountain

Jeff 118 for a progressive mounted, dialed dedicated pow ski that is easy in fresh and composed when slaying chop

All these are based on west coast/sierra snowpack skiing.

I think you were correct the first time. The info you post from Luke was from August of '22, but he since revised it to state that all skis were now 1.5/1.0 base/edge.

    Edit: Nevermind, now I'm confused.

My bad lol. I am too.

When I got my Jeff 118 I put a fresh 1:1 and I didn’t experience anything weird on hard stuff. Actually I was quite impressed with them.

Thanks man! Ended up getting a tuning kit for Xmas. Good timing! Went 2 base bevel 2 side bevel and totally rounded the edges to the contact points. Super stoked on these things again. So easy off piste and pretty good on the groomers.

I apologize for not reading through the entire thread, but I’m debating on a couple skis. I’m looking for resort/soft snow ski in the 106-110 range. Currently debating between the J Ski Hotshot 189 (106), Enforcer Free 110 in 191, and the Woodsman 108 in 191. The first two have metal, the Woodsman does not. I need a ski that’s a little fun but more importantly a ski that can handle chop. I’m 6’5” 200lbs, any insight on the Woodsman 108 would be greatly appreciated.

192 BGs for a decent price. Assume these are from a mag.

When the F are new Billy Goats coming out? I'm starting to think the reason we are having a lower snow year so far is because BGs are not out yet.

That's a really good question. I was about to pull the trigger in June, but figured I'd wait for the summer sale. I've been waiting... and waiting...

Has to be some sort of manufacturing or design issue, no? What's the inside scoop?

Hopefully Iggy is watching this thread and delayed because he's in his lab trying to recreate either the 2014 or 2016 masterpieces.

When they do release, feel free to skip out on buying any. Just leave them for people who will actually put time on the skis before writing a dissertation length review and putting them up in gear swap (mounted once, no evidence of use).
