you might get your wish in 2 more cycles. since we went wd108 to 110 then back to 108, maybe we can go back to 110 again and then up by 2mm to 112.

Woodsman 110 vs j skis hotshot. Anyone been on both than can compare? Current generations. Would be the 187 w110 and 189 hotshot but any sizes would work.

What was wrong with the Woods 110? It didn’t stick around very long.

The 108 was a lot more Wren-like in the tail, the 110 a lot more easy going behind the boot. Conjecture is rarely meaningful, but mine is that the Goldilocks may be in between?

W110 187 sounded great to me. Just wanted to do a little more research before picking up a pair. Didn’t realize it was discontinued.

Well our best guess based on the skis in the Custom menu, it’s not discontinued, just back to 108mm (and 100mm) waists, and different lengths now (171, 176, 181, 186, no longer options listed). But no documentation of the changes from 2023 102/110 to the current custom model are published yet.

Late August and nobody has a clue what ON3P will offer for the 2023-24 ski season. What gives?

It will probably not be that long There should be fair few changes coming, so it probably just takes a bit of time to finalize all the pictures, product copy etc etc.

Fingers crossed for a Blister Gear 30+ episode as well

Let's talk skinny(er) skis. I think I've come to grips that my Viciks have too much overlap with the rest of my quiver and my Moment Tahoes need a remount but I can't make the holes work. (both will be for sale) So... a perfect excuse for new skis!

I'm thinking the Wren LTD 102 in the l84 length.

I want something for low tide and something for groomers, something narrower than my Belafontes (106mm). I'd usually go for a 187-ish length, but the Wrens I've owned have all been burly and these LTDs with titanal (heh) seem like they'd ski long and I'd want something a little easier. I had the first gen of the WD108 and never got down with it - it was the first ON3P ski that's happened.

Am I on the right track? Should I be looking at something else? Or is there something waiting in the wings that might be my jam?

Or...you might try your Belafonte's new 92 or 102 descendants from the Reno folks...

I find the Wren 102 Ti's to be a great low tide ski that can still handle some manky snow incredibly well. The beauty is that they charge but the rocker makes even tight bumps easy because it's not at all jarring to hit them head on in addition to low radius turns. I have one of the OG versions with the Yosemite map topsheet and love them so much that I snagged a back up LTD pair.

I'm looking hard at those skis. Marshal sent me a PM about them last year and life got in the way and my now annual hyper-optimism of how much I'll actually ski came to the stark harshness of reality and I didn't snag a pair. And while they are still on the list, the topsheet has me, erm... luke warm. I guess I'm a topsheet slut?

Oh, I know the Belafontes get it done in post-storm chop. They turned into my low-tide travel ski or when conditions were forecasted to be variable. They've been great.

However, I want something that will still keep me entertained at high speed and still over some fun off-trail. The Moment Tahoes were pretty good at this, but I'm trying really hard to find a way to sell them (and my Viciks) so I can reduce my quiver by a pair and buy some new sticks.

The Commander is for sure on my radar. The C102 in the 84 length is on the radar. I was eyeing the C92, but it seems to be squarely for trenching the corduroy and sounds like it would not fun off-trail.

Interesting. This is good to hear. In a bit of browsing some reviews last night, the later editions of the Wrens seemed to be lacking on the groom, which I found at odds with how I remember them. Then again, all my time on them was while living and skiing in Montana where groomers were soft due to the cold and low water density of the snow.

Ideally, I'd like to combine the easy-going, directional nature of my Tahoes with the dampness and burly construction of my Viciks, all while coming in at a waist width of around 100mm.

If you’re a reasonably strong skier a Mantra 102 might be something you should consider

My pair completely replaced older Wren102s and newer WD102s.

Can slay groomers and pivot bumps. Handles both fast and slow

I know this is TGR and we're all the best skier on the mountain, but yes; I'm a strong skier, to put mildly.

I own the M5 and take the Wren 102 Ti's the vast majority of the time. I ski out east, so they're easily a daily driver out west. What I find is that when it's truly hard ice after a refreeze and there's no manmade snow to be had, then I might reach for the Brahma 88s (something that's truly able to carve ice while still have some play). But anything beyond that, I love the feel of the Wrens.

If I could only have one ski, my first gut reaction would be mantra 102. It’s amazing and the more you ski it, the better it gets.

I'm starting to want the 187 Billy Goat, instead of the 192. I never had an issue with stability on the 189s, 2cm is barely anything and my 189 Praxis RX were 187cm measured length and plenty of ski. New 187s have a decent weight too.

187 gonna be good in funky powder moguls at the end of a resort pow day, which is important to me. 187 gonna be good in trees and directional jibbing, exactly why I want a ski like the BG, as well as for Sierra cement.

Something seems to be going on with the current 192 as well, and it seems the 187 isn't having those issues. I haven't had a Goat in a while, and I need to get a pair ASAP. I used to always have a small Goat herd for crying out loud.

Do I go custom stiffer and heavier like my Rx, or stock?

Checked out the custom ski builder, curious to see the changes between the old (102/110) and new (100/108) waist-widths.

Sooner rather than later. I want to give this new wds 108 a shot. Lower rocker lines sound like theyd make it less of a soft snow weapon, which I would prefer.
