In constant pursuit of the perfect slarve...
Has anybody A/B'd the same ON3P with the 50/50 layup vs. Stock layup? Like, what's the general difference in flex profile / turn engagement? Figuring it might only be Iggy who knows the diff.
Did they stop doing carbon fiber stringers at some point?
q1: I did - wood110 stock and 50/50.
The flex is pretty much the same, so the difference is more or less what you'd expect from loosing 200 or so grams. One is lighter and thus more flickable / slightly lower swing weight, the other is more potent in variable and inherently more damp. The latter is also a bit sturdier. The grass guru over at ON3P gave a killer run down on the differences between the different cores earlier in this thread (I quoted his reply from NS - found here).
I would get the regular layup for resort use, unless you either want something lighter or plan to use them in a 50/50 capacity.
I have not skied them a ton nor with the same bindings (pivots on stocks, tectons on 50/50) - so I can't go much past generalities.
As a side note, I could not get the 50/50 skis to work with Tectons (especially on hard surfaces / groomers), but that was down to the binding delta - not the skis. It turns out that I am rediculously sensitive to ramp angle, and the difference between pivots (1mm) and Tectons (10mm) was more than I could easily adjust to.
q2: the stringers were not dropped, but two separate stringers on top/bottom were turned into many and integrated into the glass. Also, where ON3P used to add more carbon to makes skis stiffer (in the custom process), the same is now achieved through core milling. The new process is more refined.

Thanks dude!!!
Tentative feeler here but is there anyone interested in some unmounted 182cm Woodsman Tour 110? Would be a catch and release. Only took them out of the package, inspected and put them back in storage waiting for snow.
Bought these off Benneke10 a few months ago, but I may have fallen backwards into a free set up and need cash. Paid $640 shipped and would pass that along of course. May end up changing my mind but I figured I'd start this process in case.
Pic is from the OG thread here.
Man those are just sooooo nice looking!
I also just noticed that ON3P stocks wd110 50/50s in 182 and 187 lenghts - nice! I am still really surprised that the pair of #46 - Woodsman 110 - 187cm - Tour Stiff + Wood Wolf + Pink SW + Sleet Base is still up for grabs. That must be a magical 50/50 or pure touring ski in snow rich areas that also looks sensational. The slightly stiffer / closer to standard flex sounds money to me.
They are gorgeous in person. ON3P has been killing it lately in the graphics world. It seems like I say to myself, "I'd love to ski that," with every other top sheet they put out recently.
The Manus Dai 191 Jeff 118s would be hella tempting if I had any need for a heavy duty pow ski.
Just scored these beauties on Craigslist. Pretty minty one mount '19 asym custom 189 BGs. The search is over, beyond excited to get these on some cascade snow this season.

I even tried to convince the seller to ship them but no dice. Does anyone want to pick them up for me?

Thanks! Im also thinking this is exactly where i want to be Wise might be hella stretch. Steeple 102, bg(both still in rotation)then my 179 steeple 108(i just sold to a buddeh) lead me to my idea of perfection for my dd touring ski. Splitting hairs and on3p's new touring layup shaving a couple cm of length, adding 2mm width and dropping probably 1/2lb+/ski. Atk raider12's and pomoca climb 2.0's will further shave weight. Just need snow

Not sure who needs to see this but, some pillow fights up for sale in Seattle area on CL. https://seattle.craigslist.org/est/spo/7542651756.html
Sorry if this is h to e wrong thread.
Damn, they got the tours down in the sub 1600g region? Is that just a feature of being 177 or have they really dropped? I haven't weighed my 189 bg108ts but I was reading they'd be like 1850ish.
also hot damn I have no reason to buy the wrens or the pillow fights but the temptation sure is there
My 182 Wood108tours weighed 1693 / 1695gr and my 184 BG108tours weighed 1740 / 1719gr - so yeah, the touring skis have become seriously competetive.
Also keep in mind that the edges/bases on ON3P's touring skis are the same thickness as the resort specific skis from most brands, whereas a lot of touring skis from those other brands have thinner edges/bases to save weight. So yeah, the touring lay up is on point.
My WD110 Tours last year were exactly on spec for the weight, pretty sure it was under 1700g for 182 (measured 184)
