Most people can't even tell if their edges are sharp much less notice 1* difference on the side edge bevel.
It makes much more sense as a company to send everything 1/1 so that manufacturing and messaging are both easy. Not worth the minor performance difference that 1% of skiers MIGHT notice. And those 1% of skiers are going to know how to retune their skis anyway.
My point exactly! Is the "recommended" 1/1 or just the easy place for people to start from should they want a different bevel.
However I disagree on your proposition that most people could not tell the difference. I think people that can ski well can tell. Certainly in 3D snow they wouldn't notice but on firm snow they would.
I just got out on the Wrenegade 110 Pro and love them! It was exactly what I was looking for and suspect they'll become my daily driver. It was really soft spring conditions but the ski was super intuitive and could just bulldoze through any crud. They also pivoted better than I expected and were a lot more forgiving than I expected.
speaking of wrens...
I had a couple of question DM'ed asking me about the difference between the skis. I'll post a few more thoughts when I get a couple of days on them but initial impressions are the 110 Pros are exactly what I would expect (and want) in a charger. The 108's freeride rocker (especially in the tail) makes it a lot easier to pivot in heavy wet snow. (That said, the 110 Pro's pivot at least as well as any other similar charger I've tried.)
The Wren 110 Pro's (186 cm) are on the left and 108's (184 cm) are on the right:

Thanks for posting the rocker pic. I could only find On3ps computer generated image.
Still a bit more tail rocker than the last gen Viciks, but looks great!
Thanks for posting the wren10pro profile - I have been more than a bit curious about how it would look irl.
It will be very interesting to see if that more aggressive, yet still somewhat approachable profile ,will trickle down to wren102s for 2022 - or indeed, any of the narrower models.
Are both of those mounted/positioned on the line?
+1
In a narrower ski, I think the 110 Pro profile makes a lot of sense.
* Correction *
The 110 are mounted on the line.
The 108 are demo bindings and I can't remember how they were mounted at this time. (I think it was 1.5cm back.) I found that on pow days, I liked them on the line, but with less snow I liked them back 1 to 2 cm.
The main reason I convinced myself that replacing my wren96tid+wren96s with mantra102s was to try a ski with longer effective edge and less splay while retaining titanal - aka a shape that I felt was a bit less soft snow biased (I am usually on 108-116 skis, so 102 is pretty narrow by my standards). That being said - I kinda regret selling the w96tis in particular though, but oh well, too late to do anything about it now. M102s are fun and quite capable, though something that is a bit more centered mount point wise - aka something that has 90% of the performance, but a fair bit more versatility/playfulness/balance in the air - could be an even better fit for that part of the quiver. I dunno - perhaps a pair of custom wood102tis is the way to go, maybe not - time will tell. I will have to look at the 2022 woods first and then consider if the wallet will allow any splurges
Yeah, noticed the demo binders - re mounted/positioned specificityIt was just a bit surprising to see that the bindings are further back on 186 wren110pros than 184 wren108s. I thought the former had a mount point at approx - 10.25 vs -9.25 on the latter which should place the bindings roughly in the same spot from the tails, but obviously not. Not that the difference is dramatic or anything - just interesting
