Steeple 108s continue to deliver stoke in a wide range of conditions. They handled the 10 cms of wind/temp pressed storm snow over bullet-proof in this line really well. Loose enough to slarve around in the 3D snow on the surface without hooking up too much and solid enough to bite into the firm underneath if required and rally through the refrozen debris on the apron.
I'd love to add a firm snow oriented ON3P to the quiver for days like this. Somebody custom order some 179 Wren 96s in the tour layup and let the collective know what they weigh. If it's anywhere near 1800 grams/ski colour me very interested!

Sweet shot!
Just chiming in to say I skied my stock 16/17 wren 98s on 4” of cream cheese that bonded well to some good ‘ol ec hard pack all morning on Sunday. I was blown away by their blend of speed craving, stability, and what I’d call zip. Big turns, quick turns, gentle scrubs do it all w ease at speed. So fun. I can’t help but want 108s now too.....
Uno mas
I rode the 17/18's on dust on crust at the Loveland demo day and they did great. I've got a pair for 16/17's sitting in my garage waiting for some binders and for my arm to heal up. Hope I can get out on them a day or two before Loveland and A Bay call it for the season.

Live sometime today. Haha that page was up for less than 7 minutes before it was posted here. You guys don't miss much.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....
If I had to limit my quiver to 3, this is what it would look like. The steeples float much better than the 102 waist would suggest, while still being good on hardpack and choppy snow. The kartels are more powerful than I was expecting, and i haven't pushed them past their speed limit (granted I'm pretty small). I only have a day on the j122s, but I was impressed by their stability as well as maneuverability. Thanks to gear swap, the total cost of all three setups was less than 1k!
What width kartels are those?

Wren 108 or 98?
I love both my OG and slightly rockered tail 191 Wren.
I also have a pair of OG LPs (99mm). But I’m looking for a fun narrower ski than my current for former days. I’d like a better carving ski, without losing the crud busting of the 191. Perhaps something that is a bit better in the bumps as well. I see TahoeJ saying the 108 is the perfect Tahoe ski, but will there be too much overlap with the 191?
Do we have a weight on the 186 Kartel 96 in the tour layup?
Is there a supes secret password to get into the custom sale? Or will the link go live once you’re done with it.

The 98.
Having now spent a good deal of time on the 108: it is very soft snow biased (why I bought it: looking for an actual 108mm powder ski and purposely bought the '18 upon learning the '19 was stiffened) and I would not under any circumstances classify it as a "better carving ski" against pretty much most skis out there.
it may as well be zero camber, and the 184, when pressed base to base has ~122cm of contact. I love this ski for what I have used it for thus far and need more days on it, but outside of soft snow (I am talking pow and cut up pow) I have zero interest in being on it: I'd be on my monster 98's. <-- maybe my bias is because of those and that ski carves (understatement).
"fun narrower ski" would probably be what the 98 is.
How much more “poppy” is the Wren 98 compared to 108?

It depends on conditions of course... when there’s powder and soft conditions the 108 is way more fun, when it’s firmer then the 98 is. Like you would expect.
98 is noticeably softer so it has more pop, but it’s no noodle.
I used to really like the old On3p tychoon for groomer zooming, moguls and park.
What’s closer to 186 tychoon, 184 or 189 W98? Just wondering
