Last year I bought her the Nordica Wildfire's in an attempt to get her off the groomers (she'd been riding her Bandit B3W's for ages). She did not appreciate the fat-ass waist in the Wildfires and didn't like the effort required to edge-to-edge quickly. She has that annoyingly perfect ski form and these just failed her.

So, after much reading, I took the plunge and placed an order for Custom Wrenegade 88's with the BG top sheet in 179cm for her. Went with softer fiberglass and carbon. She likes a fast ski and the waist is gonna be just about perfect for her.

As for myself, I ordered a pair of Custom BG's in 184cm with the wild Green sidewalls.

Super stoked to to support a Portland based company!
    Where do you guys ski?

We're living in the SF area now and will be riding Tahoe this winter (got our Epic passes early). Mostly Kirkwood, maybe an odd day elsewhere. Though we're hoping to take a trip back home to Mt. Hood too, maybe Whistler if there's snow. Will definitely pay for a lift ticket at Squaw when the snow's "right" and I can play hookie from work mid-week.

Cool. I ski Tahoe. The Billy Goats are insanely good in the type of snow we get here. Get ready for the best skis of your life!

The stock Wren 88 is pretty stiff so good call on softening it up for her. I haven't skied the 88 yet but I think your wife will be stoked on the ski.

Called the factory today to inquire about the press-date for my custom order. They were super-cool and let me know I made the 10/31 date and they're even thinking about some ideas to accommodate another of my requests that falls outside their norm.

ON3P has one of the best examples of proper Customer Focus and Customer Service I've seen in years. Great company! So glad I took the plunge!

Fucking Wren 98's being mounted as we speak. Can't stop feeling like I need ANOTHER pair of BG's even though I have K116's on the wall.

My 191Kartels 116s and 189 Wren 98s are suppose to be at my shop on the next couple of weeks and cannot wait to get my hands on them... Regardless of how the Kartels ski I will still hold on to my 191 Billys... Definitely looking for my 98s to fill a gap that I have been looking to fill for a while...

What situations would you choose the kartel 116 over billy goat? Just curious.. would it be for when you ski switch in deep pow and also wanna throw in a lap or two in the park?

I'm out of the loop re: newer designs, but assuming the kartel is somewhat in-line with the caylor.. they ski quite different?

This is where the ole buy and try strategy is helpful. I'll spring for the schizos if you get the skis.

Just when I have the feels. Sometimes I want to mach, other times I just want to pop off of stuff, and pretend I'm not 42. When I got the K116(all of 6 months ago) I was going to just use it as my only ski. Times change.

My opinion. I have owned both. Kartel is a better Caylor.

Ya, definitely get another BG then. I will never part with mine.. honestly, I want a pair of the 189s just for shits & gigs in the resort, and turn my 191s into a short touring ski with beasts..

Do you still have your 186 BGs, and just want the new version? Or are you replacing?

Also, didn't you say something about how the Kartel 116 doesn't have as much float in the tail as the Caylor, which actually provides for a better, directional powder experience?

BG's are gone....Sold everything I could to try and keep my dog alive last year. Then in the spring picked up the Kartel's.

K116 does indeed have a bit less float in the tail than the Caylor, at least that is how I feel, and what was really my only problem with the Caylor. I still have some of the best turns of my life on Caylor's. So the K116 was an easy choice for me. But I can't help but want some BG's for those true Cascade Concrete days, that the BG turns in to magic.

    Do
Put inserts in the ones you already have, for dynafit and fks or whatever... 5 minute swap and save your coins. Or not. You seem to have no problem buying shitloads of skis, ya whore... TGR's resident trustafari?

My 11/12's have a shitload of mixed miles behind em with that arrangement.

I'm not buying anymore skis for this season, I was speculating for next season.

No trust fund here, lol, just a loaded up PayPal credit account.. I also sold off a bunch of skis and gear last march, that I had piled up over time, and bought a dirt bike. That same dirt bike is sold, so I tried to get back to where I left off in the gear whore arena..

But ya, I definitely have a problem. I'm sure I'm not even close to as bad as some of the "dentists" on here, with real money$
