Haven't listened to the podcast yet, but a metal wren 96 sounds like a good match for the supergoats I am waiting for. What are the BG changes for next year?

Stiffer, Metal Laminate Wren 108 sounds rad.
As someone who skis in VT, I really like skis with metal in them for those hard, icy, teeth rattling days. But I like other skis when the snow is soft or deep. And when travelling west I often bring two skis, usually a Bonafide and either a Wren 108 or a Billy Goat. A metal Wren might make me forget the Bonafides.
Metal wren 88? Go on. I’m listening

Got it. Thanks!

So no more Steeples unless they're custom? And I guess there's no touring replacement coming this year?
edit: Just listened to the podcast which explains this. Kinda weird. I'd love it if on3p could figure out a way to make a 9 lb Billy Goat in the 184 size that met their standards.

We'll be just stocking tour variants of main-line models. Aka Tour Kartel 108, Tour Billy Goat, Tour Wrenegade 108. As with this year, the option to custom build them will remain, but in-stock small batch runs of various custom tour models will be available to ship immediately.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....
Been out of the game for the past season (new kid) but that podcast and the 2019 lineup has me stoked to ski. Kinda want to replace my whole quiver. lol
i think the new "steeple" approach - aka the stock tour "custom" of the existing designs - is bloody brilliant. You can get the ski of your choice perfectly suited to how you prefer to drive your ski, but slightly adjusted to tour better and work even better in soft snow. I think it is a much superior approach to a limited steeple line and various customs, though it will be a bit less intuitive for new customers used to the marketing spree screaming "lighter, touring, blablabla - look at our extra costly touring skis" from other brands. I think it is a refreshing approach that we as customers benefit greatly from - at least with on3p's focus on a certain feel over super light weight.
As for the rest of the line up - sweetness! I think this means that my wren88s officially will remain in the quiver thoughThose wren96 graphics sure look oh so sweet. Perhaps some custom w114 with w96 graphics might be in my future
Though, the new C&D design seems like a pretty sure winner as well. And the wren108s colorway looks pretty damn enticing as well... Oh well - no new skis for me for at least 8 more months
That being said - what are the dimensions for the w114s? I am also curious if the will be as hookless and gain speed as effortlessly as the BGs in soft chop.
i finally got to ski a bit tonight after a few weeks off the skis due to other obligations. Man oh man i love the wren108s! I do not particularly need a stiffer ski, or metal - luckily i really like the 2018 version. Should have brought the 88s though![]()
Glad i decided to make the switch from lib to on3pPure awesomeness!
Shit! Planned on 192 protests during the spring sale, but now the fat billy goat makes me wonder...

At first thought that's how I felt too, but then I remember how well my older Wren 102 skis, and the newer Wren 108 shape is that much better in soft snow. I guess if you feel like you need RES buy a Steeple now? Otherwise, the tour layup in different shapes (and having a bunch available in stock as quick-ship customs) is $$$. Thats how ON3P did it a couple years back. My 191 Billy Goat tours are still my favourite skis of all time.

Ok, after computer-fu, now I feel stupid, ha. Loving my 102 Steeples, out.
Don't get me wrong, I think it makes a lot of sense, especially from the perspective of making the lineup more intelligible.
Part of my "remorse" comes from the fact that I've never been able to demo Wrens in choppy snow. The other part comes from my 14/15 Billy Goats (along with my GPOs) being my "cold, dead hands" skis and I don't know how much of its chopped snow performance comes from RES vs. the rest of the design (I ain't no stinkin' ski designer).
I guess my point is that here in the West, a 108 can be thought of as an inbounds daily driver, but that same 108 dedicated for touring is a softer snow biased ski - at least in my universe.
Yeah ... a Wren Tour could be cool.

Is the new C&D/Fatty Goat only going to be available in 191 like this years' C&D?
How much stability do you give up with an On3p tour layup?
And how does it effect the flex profile?
This so is last year now, but I finally got the 189 asym BG dialed in today. They require more speed than my old 191s. Once that input is there, they absolutely destroy shit. The tune is still too sharp, so tracking weird on sketchy groomers made for sketchy skiing. That was the only circumstance in which I noticed the asym. In soft snow, they just act like a Billy goat. Once I gummy them a bit more so that I can slip my tails out, they will basically be perfect.
wait!!!! waitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwaitwait...Wait!
Zoolander wasn't a documentary?
Seeing as the steeple116 is a BG in tour layup, you should probably be in luck as end of season steeple116s are probably still available at discounted prices![]()
