You're supposed to go switch to the road, not switch into a rock.

Yeah I’m a bit of a clydesdale and was a touch to a ton back seat on that Nordic air. I am calling em asym not bent.

They still ski just fine but look a bit ghetto. I will just epoxy as top sheet delamed a bit. A bit surprised what happened. Looks like I dropped em off a third story balcony to parking lot.

edit: I just looked at the gopro footage from the time I thought this may have happened and they look perfect. WTF. guess it could have happened on another air. I also lost my car keys on the hill like a complete jerry and made my wife drive up from Portland.

It's safe to assume I came down on rock/wood/earth in a similar beater somewhere. I had a number of similar "dynamic movements" in low tide scenarios, although I really remembered the above for its cat over water feel where the tails landed first and I also happened to have the cam rolling. That air may have been the only time I kicked a shoe as I think my skis stayed on rest of day.

The consistency of the damage between the skis is impressive. As for damage - that is a new one. Whatever you hit was pretty hard. The more frayed one might have some clues in it.

If you want us to fix em up and can leave them here a couple of days, drop em off and we'll do what we can.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

I am not worried about this damage as it's all contained to the very corner of the tails, but that would be pretty sweet offer Iggy given the nature of the damage. I may take you up on that. My expectations would be duct tape and elmers glue low. I am an epoxy neophyte and that was all I had in the plans for any fix. The one that is less bent and more consistent with being dropped off a van onto pavement had some to a little dirt still in it.

We have a few more options here available, both fix and refinish wise, so happy to do it whenever you can stop by.

At least 50% too much send on that roller.

Must have been really soft, my language would have been much more colorful when I realized I was going to overshoot my landing by that much.

Today, I skied one lap on my 202 DPS Lotus 138, "the ultimate tool for 3D deep snow marketing hype"... and promptly skied back to the car to retrieve my BillyGoats. The BG are far more predictable when hauling ass in upside-down somewhat deep snow. The tip can be trusted to float no matter what manner of wind funk is ahead... whereas the lotus wanted to "spear" through the dense snow, causing the tip to have a tendency to dive.

Stupid skis are ruining my quiver. :-/

I feel that my testimony, being that I am a "Saul to Paul" type BillyGoat convert holds particular weight for the fence sitters and doubters.

Yeah. I still can’t believe you held out as long as you did.

As for the 189 asym vs 191 debate...I’m on team 191. Not worth $5k for a new pair, but that’s how I feel after back to back powder days on each ski.

I need to cave and detune the asym. The “least hooky skis ever” hooked badly a few times as the snow got heavier over the course of the day.

Does Dynastar make the Billy Goat now? I'm confused.

Now that you've gotten over your own fence sitting and doubting, can you describe the mindset that kept you from giving these skis a solid chance for so long? The psychology of ski selection cross threading with brand loyalty is fascinating.

My new Wren 98 184 seem dialed now. Gummy wasn't enough. Took my deburring stone to the contact points and hammered them on machine made refrozen raincrust for 3 sessions. Ripping the shit out of cord and ice right now with no hooking or grabbing. Tails loosebto my liking and not running away from me when I get lazy. Super fun ski that loves big and small turns which is good because on Sunday I never make two turns the same.

Hating the tgr circle jerk mostly. Goes for praxis as well. Also changes in my skiing style. Basically I started finding that I preferred skis with longer radius (thanks to the lp105)... started to look for a powder ski with a ~30m turn radius, damp layup, stiffer flex, taper, and ample rocker. Was disappointed to find the BillyGoats checked all those boxes. Demo'd a pair of 189s on a really terrible day and was impressed by thier performance in breakable crust. I tried my best to find a less tgr ejaculatory ski but finally caved when my 191s fell in to my lap.
