I have a pair of 186 k108s with extra carbon and veneer tops (stiffest layup ON3P provides). They rip and are so much fun. I will post a full review on here when I have more time on them.
While they are probably close to your Jeffreys they aren't exactly the ski you are describing there which I would absolutely love.
The "playful charger" category is missing a top dog. A ski like the wren, but with a centred mount point for spins and landing switch. Sounds to me like the ultimate comp ski and kind of what blizzard tried to create with the rustler series, too bad they are too soft/light and have shorter turn radiuses.
Has there every been any thought put to creating a ski like this? I think the kartel/jeffrey line + bibby is the closest one has gotten to this.
^^Nice to hear I'm not the only one who wants this kind of ski.
Skinny Praxis RX in heavy core mounted +2 would be close on paper. But I really love the feel of ON3P skis.
PS. On previous skis, ON3P has milled the core thicker in the tip and tail, which adds stiffness there plus the full-length carbon and wood veneer. Something to consider if you buy another K108 and want stiffer tips and tails.

I finally had the chance to get a few more runs on my new 189 Wren 108. The conditions skied are best described as machined groomed over sharky boilerplate with the occasional blown-in wind buff cream. Which is to say, not ideal.
While it's tough to gauge how these will really handle in the conditions I aim to ski, I think they'll go just fine. The first few turns were a bit lazy. I forget that they really need to be driven. Not driven like the oft-referenced Dynastar LP XXL, but close. The reward a proper, forward stance. With energy into them, they really liven up and are able to carve turns big and small.
I'm really curious how they'll do in fresh, soft snow of a few inches. Given the tip shape (that's what she said) and the rocker profile, I suspect just fine.
Now, about this low tide garbage snow...
Spent the weekend at kirkwood on my new K108's (thanks again for the advice Powtron!).
Conditions were a mix of scraped-out manmade groomers, rutted-out rock-solid 'probably used to be sugar last week', and nice soft 'still feels surprisingly sugary, considering...' on the few leeward slopes with any coverage. Everything was scoured to shit after saturday's winds, other than a few leeward shady spots which were pretty nice, relatively speaking.
I probably should have been on my old tycoons, but really wanted to give these a go. Glad I did. They were super fun - silly quick and pivot-y, perfect for dorking around, and did just fine on the firm stuff. A little loose on the most wind-scoured icy areas but everything would be.
Main take-away: I was on the fence about going short - I did the 181's, per powtron's rec, given other bigger skis in my quiver - but glad I did. I never felt like there was too little ski for me. Granted it was a take-it-easy kind of day given low tide conditions and limited terrain, but I did not expect a ski like this, in a 181, to feel this stable on firm groomers at 40-50 mph. And then to get all the quickness, too - really nice combo.
Good work, dudes!

Only problem is it weighs 1900g/ski in their standard/inbounds layup. Way too light for inbounds cruising, at least IMO. That’s significantly lighter than On3ps tour core, and I can’t (for the life of me) understand how that is supposed to be damp/stable. Around 110mm underfoot, I wont even consider an inbounds ski unless it’s 2300g/ski or more.
