    5 dead McBride/Valemont

OK - no one knows shit at this point...

    But I am still pissed.

It may be the beer it may be the scotch (I've had a few of each) -- But I am mad.

This is unnecessary, no one should die for this.

Don't take it too hard. It weren't you or your crew.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

Based on the photos on CBC, it looks to be under Calvinist Pk. In the Renshaw drainage. 52 28' 16"N, 120 3' 22"W. Waiting for the SAR report to review the details.

Thanks. Cabin close by and lots of nice access. Looks like quite the play area. I can see the reasons for the popularity

It can be a shit show, the access is easy, groomed, and reasonably safe to the cabin. But plan on lots of traffic.
Word is it was the steep bowl up to spirit lake... I imagine multiple riders hanging out in the run out zone and at least a couple on the feature. Snow was very active the weekend before and is still pulling to ground in the north rockies.

the infamous Big Iron Shootout, class 3 with 30-50 buried fortunatley only 2 fatalities

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEziPDQ0xuk

The event but not the aviy incident itslef, some of the carnage is amazing, runaway sleds at speed into crowds at the base!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1xmtv_Cxo4

follow up on the big iron aviy

Riding a chairlift sometimes after the incident a sled industry person told me that 70% of the destryed sleds involved were long lined by RCMP into a compound where they were not claimed ... it seems the sleds had funny serial numbers
