    35cm's and counting... Las Lenas received 35cm's with more snow in the forecast and Catedral is reporting a "great cover of white" from the base to the summit from 12May storm and cold temperatures/forecast on their website

    The latter is really impressive. The bottom of Catedral is basically like Heavenly, but worse. The base is at relatively low elevation next to a giant lake. Granted, last year was terrible, but the bottom half of the mountain was covered only a handful of days last year. Otherwise it was mostly dirt. This isn't a bad thing, since all the good skiing is up top anyway. But for them to have snow at the bottom this early is a very good sign.

    let the stoke begin

    wish I could say I'll be headed to SA this summer, but alas I won't be so I won't say anything more on the subject.

    It'd be kind of fun to have one continuous thread going with updates on both sides of the world (and south of the equator)!

    And of course, motivating from both SA and NZ would help inspire even more stoke to be posted day after day. I like it!

    A very good friend of mine had been hired as the new mt manager. I got him hooked with A quiver of Volkls so I am in constant touch with him. Go the email last night about the snow and cold temps.
    I will keep you posted.
    As for the plane ticket, roll the dice.

    Comish: I'm trying to find a job that lets me start Sep. 1 or later (soon to be college grad!). Anyways, if that happens I'll be travelling most of the summer thru SA and definitely looking to hit up the snowiest spots in August. Keep me updated...

    Alright--which Chilean or Argentinan mountain should I book this year: Lenas? Portillo? La Parva? Which one has the hottest women plus the best terrain--the two most important facets of this solo trip!
