There have been rumors of a new Bronco model since they discontinued the old one approximately 20 years ago. The article even says the image was created by an enthusiast, not issued by Ford. Also, the article cites the UAW bigwig as it's source, not Ford. I'd get a little more excited if they were hitting showrooms but until then, not so much.

Are they trying to compete with Dodge for the biggest ugliest letters on a grill ?

Great SUV. Great engine. The Bronco will obviously be based off the Explorer. That's a good thing.

This is based off a F150.

The new Explorer may well be a nice grocery getter SUV, but if they're building a new Bronco is should be base off of the F 150/Raptor or a new, smaller off road truck platform and not a mall cruiser. The Explorer looks like a slightly bigger Outback, NTTATWWT. It's like if Jeep made the Wrangler and changed the chassis to the Cherokee or Patriot chassis.

Lot of big name magazines saying it's confirmed. Bronco and Ranger. Which would still be a Explorer chassis.

I know that all the core TGR crowd wants a F150 chassis and a 6.7 diesel, but a 60k Bronco won't sell nearly as well as a 38k one.

I am just ready for the new raptor to hit. I have 6 on order. Then I can steal an older 6.2 for myself.

I'm still lusting after this, but I am afraid it would be worth 30k 2nd hand.

Beer Drinker, some credible reports are that the Bronco will be built on the Ford Everest platform designed in Australia. Body on Frame, Lo Hi transfer case, reasonable 4WD capability already designed in. It'll get some chunkier looking sheet metal to look Bronco- ish

The current Everest has 9 inches of ground clearance, a reasonably impressive 29 degree approach, 25 degree departing, 21 degree ramp-breakover angle and over two-and-a-half feet of water-wading depth. With a diesel engine, at least. Still.

The 4WD system has a legitimate low range, electronically locking differential, hill descent control plus specific traction control settings for snow, sand and rocky terrain..

The original ranger was designed to be as capable as an F150 with a smaller footprint, here's hoping that continues with the new models. I wonder if they will be doing a short and long wheelbase as well, my reg cab with a long box is a nifty little truck.

    From Bloomberg:

    time to buy a truck.

To hold a slowing market at bay, carmakers in the U.S. are offering the biggest incentives on full-sized pickups since December 2008, when the country was mired in recession and the auto industry was collapsing. Last month, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles's Ram raised its average incentive on the trucks to $7,082, up 29 percent from a year earlier, according to J.D. Power data obtained by Bloomberg.

    Real or photo shopped?

Thinking of the Tacoma but then driving a couple of tundra's this week on fishn shuttles and I'm thinking why not the bigger truck with a real steel box that I could maybe throw a minimal camper on ?

Yeah you take a milage hit but I don't drive much anyhow

Oh that Hennessy 6x6 is real. Top Gear online had a bit on it this week. It'll sell well in Dubai I'm sure. And probably Dallas too.

I stand by my statement 'if it doesn't have a removable top it's not a Bronco.'

I'd rather it not be based off the F150, too big.

Just got a 16 Tundra Crew Cab with the 5.7 V8. Love it so far. Can tow 10-12k, seat five easily, and has a big enough bed for pretty much whatever you want.

First week we had it we towed a big wakesurfing boat from PDX to SLC. Truck drove like it wasn't even there.

Yeah well I am more of a minimalist not towing boats maybe a boiler so probably look at the 4.6 . The price isn't that far from the Tacoma wondering what the mpg difference is, there is a little more size to deal with, probably would get the one with the smaller back doors

might be time to turn over the ranger before I need to spend money on it, spent zero in 5years

Got money burning a hole in my pocket

Huh. I personally like having a truck that does what I want, is paid for, and doesn't cost me any money to keep on the road.

    Different strokes I guess.
