I just had them on my upper teeth from Jan 04 - Jan 05.
I was 23 at the time.
Man did it suck...but it didn't stop me from doing the shit I normally do.
But I guess that's what you get for drinking some dude's champagne bottle on NYE.

I still have nightmares that I have my braces on and I got them off over 13 years ago. I set a record with my orthodontist for "length of time wearing braces" because I kept trying to take them off myself. you may only have your's on for a few months, but the mental scarring lasts for years.

I got braces halfway through grade 9. They said one and a half to two years. Three years later there was still no end in sight. Since I didn't want to go through my entire high school career with braces, I went in one day and said to my ortho, "All right man, I'm done. When can we schedule the appointment to get these things out of my mouth?" He thought I was joking, then realized I wasn't, made me sign a release of liability, and then took them off. Never set foot in his office again.

I wore my retainers for about a month, then decided that I didn't give a fuck anymore and tossed 'em.

I'll regret it in ten years, but right now I like it.

I have them still. Was s'posed to have them off 2 years ago. On year 3. My orthos about to give up - they haven't done shit to fix my overbite. and i don't even care, except for fucking grinding my teeth.

I'm in the orthodontics biz (actually making the braces, not the doctor end of it). We make both the metal brackets here, along with the clarity brackets (whiteish-clear ones).

Anyway, what I've found from talking to a lot of the doctors, and seeing the case studies, is that it really fucking matters what orthodontist you go to. A good ortho can fix shit in not so much time, and have you lookin' perfect again. A bad orthodontist..well, sounds like some of you already had that experience.

For whatever reason, I felt the need to spew this worthess shit.
