Giving Tuesday: What will you give today?

I'll be donating to protectourwinters.org and taking the Pow7 pledge.

If you want to give to a skiing-related cause, check if your local hill has a disabled/adaptive skiing program. The NSCD at Winter Park is awesome (they taught me to ski again after losing my leg) and they can definitely use the donations. At Christmas my family sometimes does donations in lieu of gifts to each other, and that's one that I always support. They also need volunteers, if you've got more time than money available.

I wondered what all these emails were that I were getting to give them money on Tuesday, so I looked it up.

apparently started in 2012 with an assist from the UN to combat the commercialization of Christmas. way to come up with something to combat it only 90 years after Coke started putting a bottle of coke in Santa's hand !

for me, I will be giving nothing. I was giving more than Obama and biden yearly did as senators and they made considerably more; so I think i'm okay on the charity.

I gave to www.hua.org and asked you guys to do the same in another thread. I hope the dog lovers out there kicked them a little cash for the not so fortunate pups.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

I gave a sleeping bag and some coats that will be directly distributed to local homeless people. It's getting cold, people are in need all over the place.

If you give for the sake of posting a thread about it you are doing it wrong.

That's not the point of the thread. The point is to share with other like minded individuals (skiers, I presume) about what charities, organizations they favor; this might turn someone onto those organization that they've never heard of. It's not to boast or brag; it's to have a conversation. Now if you'd like to share some charities or organization that you favor, please tell.

If not, then shut the fuck up and quit cunting up the thread.

In that case, I give to Backcountry Hunters and Anglers. Doing more for public land access than any organization I can think of.

There's a very bad joke in there, but I won't go there.
