Oooooohhhhh Uggs! Yes! After 8 years it's time for a new pair of slippers for around the house (yup, got 8 years out of them!) Tasman is my favorite. Not very sexy but oh so comfy and warm and with the a more substantial sole I can take short jaunts outside if I need to without worry of ruining them.

Sticking to the Ugg theme This is the Ugg Ansley:

Both pairs retail for around $99

How do we feel about the tgr gift suggestions? for him and for her (the her's list actually includes slippers, what is it with everyone wanting slippers? Not seeing anything I would particularly want to get or give on there personally). b-bear what are you getting for your guy?

Got my son 50 Classic Climbs and Downward Bound--both out of print. And the Women of Squaw Ski Patrol calendar. A lot of his friends are in it (in uniform, sorry). Other son gets ski boots and avy gear for trip to Big Sky--the three of us. He's been skiing hand me down boots for way too long.

If you PM me your size and address, you will find these under your tree...or wherever you get your deliveries. Consider it a payback for this thread.

I know, right? I'm a little hurt (), but seriously, too many people here know me for me to creep on her and she's been awfully cool to us and she apparently needs new slippers..so, one more time, KQ - accept. The people want it.

KQ, I can confirm this. I've never met MS, but I know many who have, and I know I could track him down if I needed to; he couldn't get away with being an internet creeper (nor do I have any reason to think he would be one, and we've known each other online at least a pretty long time).

Could easily depending on where she lives and which method of shipping used to route the package for pick up at the Post Office, the closest UPS Store or FedEx Office hold for pickup if she really was just concerned about a mag knowing her address. Or a gift certificate for the ordering of the slippers herself. She could pay it forward to anyone she felt deserved also.

Open question to KQ, gotta make her work for her revival:

"How do I make my lady happy?" Insights appreciated. I got a gift planned, but ...

I have many ideas, and stop being an asshole is prominent, but the female perspective it always helpful.

Yeah, you definitely need a backup plan.

Oh wow.... really don't know what to say. Seriously, the thought is more than enough for me. It has nothing to do with sharing my address, didn't even pop into my head when I replied. What I did think was there are so many other people in this world who could use a little something esp. during the holiday season when want and need are felt more keenly than any other time.

How about the next time you walk past a bell ringer you slip a dollar in the red bucket for me and we'll call it good? I always keep a pocket full of folded bills for the bell ringers.

How do we make anyone happy? Listen to them, really listen and hear what they say or perhaps what they don't say and acknowledge that you've heard them. Nothing makes a person feel more special than when someone picks up and recognizes in a positive way something about them be it a fond memory they shared with you, an item on their bucket list, a new hair style or shoes or hat or glasses, their favorite color or the fact they they love old black & white westerns etc. etc.

Kind words and actions are the most precious gift of all but.... if you are looking for something more tangible one of my favorite gift buying tactics is to go window shopping with a friend. I might tell them I'm looking for something for myself or someone else but what I'm really doing is looking to see what they are drawn to so I can surprise them with the item of their fancy which, if you think about it, is a lot like my first suggestion - listen then let them know you've heard.
