Tod's makes the quintessential driving moccasin. A bit pricey but they'll last you forever and are classic. (No comment on the ladies versions but I've had my eye on some orange ones for years to replace my tan ones. Classy and ridiculous all at once. Sure to gain scorn from the cargo shorts crowd.)
Sticking to shopping at Nordstrom if the poster's lady wants a lined house moc she should look at the UGG ones. Extremely warm and comfortable.
This is exhausting, I hope KQ comes back.
I still call it The Jake.
For most of you this might apply to your mother or grandmother: my wife loves to garden but her knees and back are shot. I got her stand up shears and in the past a stand up weedpuller (that one is kind of fun; I use it myself). Probably will get her a trenching shovel for planting. I do what I can for her--like digging bigger holes, uprooting bigger plants she wants to get rid of, but she really loves to be out there doing it herself and having me do it doesn't cut it. Also got her a Nasty Woman T shirt from Samantha Bee.
Lofted a shot into the other court on that recco, sorry. But over the years I've learned a few things about women and gifting. She says she wants house slippers and you get some Minnetonkas at STP for $39.95. You're feeling good because 1) you listened to her and 2) saved some coin.
Wrong. You've got to go to next level gifting and it involves a bit of spywork, but the interwebz and Google is your friend.
Take a look at her browsing history. Was she looking at Kate Spade handbags? or those $100 yoga pants she would never buy for herself?
And for those that feel this is too intrusive and violates some fucking privacy act, realize that some stranger at Google or Adsense knows more about your wife's browsing habits than you do.
If my wife follows this advice, I should be receiving a busty young college co-ed under the tree this year.

Make sure you poke some holes in her box ;p
Beans, bullets and bandages sez you care if they lives oar dies.
watch out for snakes
If my wife is any indicator, women love heated ski gear. Boot warmers, heated mittens, etc. These gifts come with the additional benefit of not having to listen to complaints about the cold.
It's not often the best exchange of the day gets coffee out my nose at 10am.
Let's hope she's editing the recipe rolodex for the Holidays and mentally preparing for a month of gift recommendations. I would hope that a female poster on the TGRz is stronger than a fucking crying-in-the-fetal-position-because-my-team-lost-Lena Dunham. At least that's my impression of the ladies around here.
I still call it The Jake.
i have no idea but maybe it was the election which has devastated many strong women i know combined with the misogynist assholes here who piled on, combined with tgr's obvious tolerance of hateful, bigoted political spam, combined with the realization that a lot of men here who supported hillary or didn't support trump are also total chauvinists.
probably not but there's a reason there are so few women here and white men condescendingly telling her to suck it up and equating her with an egomaniacal twit like dunham doesn't help.
women always lose and if they don't even symbolically it's a brawl for generations just like minorities. some version of white men always win, either dividing spoils or limiting gains of the "other."
hillary was as close to the white house as a woman had ever been and she had to transform herself into a de facto predatory white male to even sniff it. i'm sure if a woman ever makes it she won't be some tough liberal maternal figure who will provide some temporary balance to generations of testosterone bullshit. she'll be a right leaning warmonger because that would be her only chance
and of course, oceanside liberals and conservatives alike will congratulate themselves for finally being so open-minded while the rednecks and their brainwashed, hostage wives will cry that nobody is listening to their needs and traditional values like bigotry and chauvinism.
hope you're doing ok, kq.
Guys she might just be on vacation or something too?

My wife asked for them years ago and wouldn't stop raving about them. I tried a men's pair on at Nordstrom and had an "ooooh, fuck these feel good" moment.
Found my pair under the tree a few weeks after that. They're like wearing the warmest softest tiniest clouds wrapped in sheepskin on your feet. Nothing feels better after a day on the slopes. Or after a day of drinking.
They're versatile.
I still call it The Jake.
Those UGG slippers are not cheap either, but my wife loves hers. In fact they are getting worn out and need to be updated. I think you all just gave me a gift idea.
I've been having eskimo fantasies lately. Perhaps this one?

yes! if everyone here that has not prior bought their wives ugg slippers, just make it easy on yourself and do it
they are spendy but they are quality and last a really long time (maybe buy on blk fri deals or try sierra trading post if they have fringe size feet)
the way they regulate your foot temp to be perfect almost all the time is amazing
it's a treat you didn't know how much you'd enjoy until you have it

My wife got ME ugg slippers last year. They're very nice. My kid wears nothing but ugg slippers outside of work, except when he's wearing rainbow sandals. He's like me, too impatient to tie shoe laces.
I'm on my second pair of Ugg Dakota slippers in ~6 years. They are fantastic. Little tight feeling at first, but they wear in.
I'm hoping KQ gets back to the suggestions soon! They were excellent for some family and friends last year.
I really like my lace up UGG shoes for everyday wear and I have some fleece lined clogs I like to wear too. Either one after skiing is great, but the UGGS are a lot softer / more comfy.
Maybe KQ went on a cruise for a few weeks and is having to much fun to check in on us???
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
