    Tour of Utah

As some of you know, though most probably do not, the Tour of Utah Stage race is happening this coming Memorial day weekend. Larry H. Miller just jumped on as the title sponsor and with Jason Preston, the promoter for the event, has this poised to be one of the biggest cycling events Utah has ever seen. In only it's second year, the purse for the event has grown to nearly $25,000, attracting many of the top cycling teams across the nation.

However, in order for this to fly and really happen, we are in desperate need of volunteers. The pros will be have their first race on Thursday, May 26th with one race each day (saturday is comprised of two stages) up until the final day of the event, Monday, May 30th. Volunteers are needed every day, though Saturday and Sunday are the two biggest days of the event. Even if you can only help for a few hours, it will not only be greatly appreciated, but you will be rewarded with some free items from the tour, along with the opportunity of seeing some of the top pros in the nation.

If this is something you are available to help with, send a PM. (yes a lot of this was sent as PR to a different locale so it does sound kind of official, sorry about that)

Please send me the complete info - in the format you want it distributed in - and I'll send it out to two fairly large bicycle groups.

The race is listed on the New Mexico racing website:

    NMCycling.org Calendar

They have a listserv, you might want to get in touch with them and send out an e-mail to the group.
