Saw the movie last night with my folks and thought it was pretty good with a strong emphasis on "pretty". I have read the books, listened to the book on tape and seen most of the tv series with the book on tape being my favorite medium to get into the story. The movie wasn't bad, but it wasn't super wicked double extra neato burrito as I had hoped. They didn't follow the story exactly, which is okay, movies do that...I mean you can't have 5 books condensed into an hour and 1/2 and expect it to be just like the books. Mos Def was great as Ford Prefect, Sam Rockwell was solid as Zaphod Beeblebrox and the rest of the cast was...there. I guess. Alan Rickman as the voice of Marvin the Android was a good call. Actually the part of the movie I liked best was the animations in the guide it's self, like when it would explain Bablefish or the Infinite Improbability drive. If you are a fan of the books, you should see the movie even though they don't actually show The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. On the vinzclortho 57 star movie rating system, I would give this prolly 38 stars.

quick side note: seeing the preview for Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith on the big screen was frickin BALLSY!!!!!
