If that's the future, I'll take the past.

Funny thing with people like you is that you never really do anthing at all, past present, future. Unless you consider closed minded comments on an internet forum your legacy. The future is pioneered by people who love the past. But just becuase there is a future for surfing in river surfing does not mean that ocean surfing is a thing of the past. I have surfed many breaks (at the ocean!) Todos, Mavericks, Pipe, Sunset, Peurto, and countless others since i started surfing when I was 8 yrs old, I have not made it to Tahitii yet but when i get there at least I will Drop in!

I reckon you'd get some pretty intense hold downs in some of those troughs. I don't like the idea of falling at all but it looks great fun & no waiting for off shores either.

    Great pics.......and your chick's a real hottie!!

    Great!

Hayduke, my wife was standing over my shoulder when I was reading your post and it made her day, thanks!
I got held down for about 20 seconds and pushed down about 25ft underwater behind that wave. That was with a thick life vest.
Check out the July issue of Surfing Magazine for a 12 page feature story river surfing. Most likely you won't see my mug, thats what happens when you tell the editor to get F*%KED!
Right now you can check out the sickest picture of the barreling river wave in Africa in the back of the June issue of Surfing Magazine.

Sweet site. That's some crazy shit for sure. Props to you riversurfing folk.

Personally, I'll stick with the good ole atlantic ocean... (or any ocean, or even lake - I've always wanted to surf the Great Lakes for that matter - anyone do ever do that????), but that river stuff sure does look fun.
