Just thought an update was in order.

Just got home from Roll #6 and I don't really have the energy to get into this debate right now, but here's the link to the Biscuit Salvage analysis http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/rogue-siskiy...april-2006.pdf

And some more misc info from the FS site

Roadless national forest lands are not equivalent to wilderness areas, for instance, they are not off limits to all motorized use. The roadless rule banned road building. The federal government has always and will always manage large amounts of land. It is their job, arguing that it is unconstitutional when you don't like their totally legitiment decisions or that some rube in Buttfuck, Montana and Industry Town, Idaho could do a better job is ridiculous. Proximity does not give you more of a right to use public land or some how qualify you as an expert. Federal lands are owned in common by everyone in the United States. Logging on public land is welfare. People on welfare need to get a real job. Real jobs don’t require federal subsidies. Anyway, if you don’t agree with me, you can suck my fucking lizard.
"Logging on public land"? The logging companies in Washington log the land that they own.

If we didn't have FS Roads, I guess we could all try and squeeze into the asphalt jungle at Paradise, Mt. Rainier.

The logging companies in Washington maintain their own roads, and do a fine job of it. It provides winter access for winter recreation. In summer it provides access to great climbing, mt biking, etc.

I say build more FS Roads so we can go deeper into the outdoors. I don't want to be stuck next to George and Mable trying to flop out of their motorhome in the Paradise Parking Lot, MRNP.

I guess I missed the sale of Gifford Pinchot, Olympic, Wenatchee & MB/Snoqualmie National Forests.

Sorry, Wally, Olympic is a National Park not a National Forest. And I don't think they do any logging there. Better go talk to Ward and June on that subject, school boy.

The largest timber companies log their own land. Yes , some of the smaller loggers lease land , permitted to log. So what? It gets replanted. The logging industry is like modern farming. They meet all the necessary requirements set by enviornmental law. Wake up and quit whining .

I suppose you don't use any FS roads to access your recreation habits?

    That's what I thought, hippocrit

Hi BanditXXX, are you aware that forest service roads are frequently locked and for the exclusive use of timber companies? Or that 300,000 miles of roads have been built in our national forests? And in Washington, lots of timber sales happen on public land.

Are you aware of what you just said is untrue? I have a friend who is married to a Weyerhauser. I know the timber industry. You can't bullshit me. Logging roads/FS Roads in Washington are used by every one. I don't know where you live, but we like our recreation here and want more FS Roads.

Even if your statement were true, which it isn't, but so what? What's your point. We drive in the forest. That's not a bad thing, now is it?

18 million board feet from it in 2003. Greydon's right about the roads being locked as well. You might do well to read.

Weyerhauser... There's an unbiased source for information about the timber industry...

Trust me. Greydon probably knows more about the timber industry than your average joe. Almost none of the major timber companies log exclusively on their own property. In most cases, they log on a mixture of both created by the land grants of 1875 (that checkerboard of public/private land along old railway routes).

Ok, so they are loggiing in the Olympic "National Forest". So what?

Yes the gates are locked on some FS roads. So what? Do you have a mountain bike or 4X4 or bc skis for the winter?

Quit crying and get off your ass and quit lolly gagging around the asphalt parking lot at Paradise.

Your arguments have proven to be wrong, so now your response is "so what?" That's brilliant.

You get your info from Weyerhauser? Hahahahaha

You sound angry XXX. I am too. I am tired of taxpayer-subsidized logging of our forests and old growth to benefit the timber industry. How much money has the FS lost (or "misplaced") from timber sales?

I think I'll send another donation to Earthjustice thanks to you XXX, thanks for getting me all fired up.

Bandit and Powwow should start up a syccophantic clown club. And why do other people on the planet have a stereotype image of ignorant americans?

    I simply can't imagine why.

A tree plantation is not a forest.

Another poorly run, oversubsidized, unsustainable, overly extractive, environmentally destructive, bottom-line driven industry. Thanks for pointing that out.

How many acres of old growth do you need to frolick in? 100,000 ,500,000 acres? Can you share with your spotted owl friend? Is MRNP, ONP and The NCNP enough old growth for you? Or do you need all of the forest land to be old growth?

They will never log the NP's , so what are you so worried about? The little salamander that you share your tent with, or the little squirrel that nibbles your nuts, or maybe bambi who sucks on your finger as you feed it a piece of bread?

Go chew on your granola with all your hairy marmmut friends at MRNP and shut up.

A time machine would be pretty sweet - the few old growth stands in Olympic National Park are awesome. Seeing what the forests were like prelogging would have been incredible.

Coming straight out of the mouth of a snowboarder. Go figure. Why don't you go chew on some cannabis and suck on those mushrooms in your hemp shirt, nut sack.

Funny, I don't remember you, BanditXXX, at the Crystal MDP meetings when we successfully kept MRNP from closing the boundaries.

Do you limit your whining to the internet?

No sir, Sgt. Highman. I sit and smoke cigs, while drinking PBR, and spank your mother until her ass turns red.

On a seriious note, I went to all the Crystal Mt. expansion planning meetings and frankly got tired of listening to all the salamander masterbators.

If I want to jack off I'll just stay home and save the gas money, Thank you sir, may I have another.
