I made a huge pot of beef stock yesterday. Baked the bones, garlic, onion, carrot, celery, for about an hour and a half until the bones were nice and browned, threw it all in a pot with water for about 8 hours just hot enough to turn the water. I ended up with about 60 cups. I put it in 4 cup ziplock bags in the freezer. It's delicious.

Then this morning I was looking at the beef fat and decided to make potato chips (crisps). Damn they were yummy.

    Soup...

I save all my bones and veggie trimming in the freezer. A gallon bag make a batch of broth in the slow cooker. I usually let it cook for 24-48 hours.

Added leftover barley, green beans, mushrooms, pork loin, and tri tip.

    Yum

Cool wet weather along the front range necessitated making a big ole pot of chicken and dumplings last night. Couldn't even get a pic cuz the pot got emptied so fast. It's gotta be in my top 5 favorite meals.

My all time favorite breakfast. Toast topped with grits, crumbled bacon, and a sunnyside up egg. Pairs up nicely with this bad ass Kenyan aa that pechelman dropped off the other day.

Just massacred the basil in the garden and made about 4 cups of pesto. Currently freezing on a sheet pan, to be cut into blocks ready for quick use in the future.

Cold weather calls for warm comfort food. Making chicken and rice soup AND red sauce with meatballs. Gotta plan/cook ahead.

Made a hearty beef stew Sunday afternoon. Wife and kids headed out of town, so that's my easy go to this week. #autum
