My wife eats super healthy and although I should be I’m not a fan. So, I try to do super cheap filling crappy meals.

Tonight I tried fideo, pretty easy and takes advantage of my fresh tomato surplus. I took some leeway from recipes I found, as I usually do.

Toasted some broken up angel hair pasta.

Blended up some tomatoes with onion, garlic, cumin, dash of chili powder.

While it's not a kale salad I wouldn't really call that an unhealthy meal. Looks great.

Friend gave me some some polish sausage he and his mom(recently passed) made. Chicago polish. Went super simple with onions/peppers and 2 mustards. I don't miss the city much but I do miss all the different food.

Nothing fancy but a pan of homemade egg McMuffins for a breakfast get together tomorrow. Went for a speed and quantity over quality approach.

Only cooking was the baguette crisps, which were highly rated by the participants. The whole thing was demolished, my first foray into the charcuterie genre.

The baguette crisps had some love involved. Sliced them at a 1/4 inch, brushed with olive oil and sprinkled with some finely chopped rosemary that was still alive in the garden.

Rubbed each one with a freshly halved clove of garlic. Preemptively topped a tomato I was going to use for bruschetta, rubbed it on my crisps. I let them dry and savor for a bit while I crafted the sopressa rose.

I kinda like spending my weekends fucking around with food. I usually err on the cheap side, this was a trial run for a possible Christmas Eve dinner/grazing.

My daughter threw this together tonight as well. Addition of pepperoni rolls was a hit.

I love me some club crackers, buttery goodness. I’m liking the charcuterie thing, it’s a license to switch up whatever flavors you want.

Italian, Mexican, French? Seems like this could be interesring.
