    Angry Boarding Schools Suck!(relationship rant)

OK, some of you know that I go to a boarding school as a day student, I live at home with the folks because I live like five minutes from the school. Well, after a year and a half of striking out and being shot down I finally managed to find a girlfriend about 3 months ago.

One catch: the gf is a boarding student. For those of you unfamiliar with the prison-esque nature of boarding schools today, it goes something like this: Not allowed to leave campus unless its with parents/parental consent, they have to be in their dorms by 8PM 6 nights a week, classes on Saturday, phone lines and internet shuts off for the night at 8PM, no co-ed visitation, and the list goes on.

This makes it kinda hard to develop any kind of actual relationship, seeing as there is essentially nothing to do on campus and on the rare occasion she has free time, it usually presents itself in 15 minute windows Not only is this a bitch from the relationship/friendship standpoint, it makes getting around to doing anything fun damn near impossible too, which is even more frustrating.

The catch on my end is that I really like the girl we have an almost eery amount of things in common, which makes things very natural and easygoing, if there was anywhere for them to go. Should I just let things fade admitting defeat at the hands of the school situation or keep trying even though it pisses us both off that we're stuck in such a shithole of a situation?

I suppose I should be happy just to have a girlfriend, but it doesn't feel like a relationship should at all, it feels half-assed, censored and convoluted.

if the two of you are unable to make time for each other regardless of the "rules" then one or both of you are insufficently horny.

Okay - I went to a boarding school and I admit there are a ton of rules and it is hard to find time to just hang out but there are definitely ways - some I am not recommending unless you want to get kicked out. However - do you have a free hour after study hall? That was a good time for us to go for a "walk" etc. Also, what about sundays? Can't she sign out to your house or if not - can't you spend the day on campus with her? It's definitely not ideal but if you like this girl, then definitely stick it out and you will find ways to hang out with her.
Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn.

Having gone to a boarding school myself, those seem like some really stringent rules. Sucks if things have changed that much in the last 20'ish years, I got some good cooter from the girls at the Girls Preporatory School. Hang in there GM!

What an ideal situation, sex at school and gone by 8pm without the need for all night chit chats, consolation, emotional outbreaks, and accompanying psychosis.

You obviously lack enough creative genius to get laid while at school and are therefore condemned to a life of virginity.

    Somebody call a whaaambulance.

and also the risk involved with a situation like this usually only adds to fun. You'll especially realize it if your ever trapped in some boring realtionship later on in life

Well, another night with 8PM lockdown. However, I've come to the realization that its so worth it. People who have never met her don't understand this girl, so I won't even both trying to explain. Even though we do less than either of us would like to, something in my mind seems to want to ignore that for the sake of who she is. Yes, its a source of some fun( ) fairly often, but I also enjoy just being with her and talking, it just seems natural without all the sappy bullshit all too frequently associated with this kinda thing.

Too bad I didn't meet her 5 or 10 years from now.

I thought boarding school was all about coke and hookers. At least that's what all the boarding school kids were into when I met them at college.

Haha, yeah right. There are a lot of drugs but the school is essentially a prison, and for a reason. Some(read most) of the kids there are there because they wouldn't fit in anywhere else. Dorm life there is like something out of a prison with nicer furniture sometimes.

Speaking as boy who is almost 19 and gone witnessed al sorts of halalrious teen age releationships, my advice is.... Its never worth it. The girl you think you have alot in common with and enjoy "talking to" will eventually be the one that drives by your house at 3 am with a bottle of pills following the break up. Get what ya can from the cutest girl ya can and save the real relationships for the post 25 era.

As your attorney I advise you drive over to your lady's dorm with a six-pack and a bag of weed, bust her out with a 18' foot ladder, park on some lonely dead end road, get stoned and drunk, crank a little bit of Journey, make out for four hours straight and get her back to her dorm before anyone is the wiser.

So remember, he who seeks pussy must be ready to slay dragons and climb great heights at a moments notice. Fight on brave Lancelot. Fight on!

    Thumbs down

OK, nevermind. Makes no difference any more. We broke up tonight. She did most of the breaking but for reasons I understand and that are way too personal to ever post here. I'm pissed(of course) but I understand where she's coming from as I've had family members who have dealt/are still dealing with the same things. I wish her no ill will seeing as how these are things that are gonna take her a lifetime to sort out, I'll feel fine in three days.

I have learned one thing though, be fake and a fraud with everyone=lots of friends who don't really like you and being sincere and genuine gets you a select few close friends, some of whom still think you're full of it because who you really are is "too good to be true." I can't fucking win.

Actually, once you get out of high school, you will start winning. High school was great for attention whores. In college, everyone finds their niche. Here's a tip though: stop feeling sorry for yourself because you're a 'nice guy.' For a long time I wondered why I didn't have as many friends as some people who were assholes, and then I realized that I had more friends who were better people. Now that i realize that it doesn't matter that much at all, I'm chill with everyone that I wasn't in high school, and I have friends all different colleges from when I went to visit my friends. Just get through boarding school and your quality of life will improve.
