    Alta 5/3

I haven't been putting much up lately 'cause I haven't really been getting any good shots, and I haven't been out a whole lot.

Friday I kicked my own ass, I went up to Catherine's pass, then did a Seagull, Wolverine Bowl, back of Millicent, Elevator Shaft, run from Millicent lift down to Twin lakes, then back to the car from Twin Lakes pass. Whew, I get tired just thinking about it...

Weather was in and out all that day, here's my only decent shot of a nice Wolverine Bowl run.

Today Dave and I were going for a Devil's Castle Couloir, which is still looking amazingly plump.

However, interesting snow consistency on East Castle led me to dig a pit, and we didn't like the results we were getting from the shear test at all. Definite weak layer 6" or so down, then another one 1.5' deep or so. They just pulled out too easy and too clean for comfort, so we bailed and took a Catherine's instead. Sucks to walk away from something in May, I'm sure we could have gotten away with it, but we just felt uncomfortable about it.

Dave working on his jibbing technique on top of Supreme.

The skiing sequence came out blurry for some reason, but there was some real nice corn in Catherine's.

    nice gramps

I backed off Lightning Bolt yesterday in the morning sun. Didn't feel right. Wise to do the same.
