    DC, NoVA mags.

    BigE, Ep, Myles, General and all you other local mags, this means YOU!

    Group ride on the trail system in Reston (Colt's Neck) Wednesday, May 4th.

    Plan is to meet at the trail head between 6:00 and 6:15. We'll do a 15 mile out and back. The trails are a mix of buff singletrack, with just enough technical stuff to keep things interesting. Ride should be finished before dark, so lights aren't necessary. The group is a mix of skill levels and nobody will be dropped.

    I would love to make one of these rides, indeed I NEED to make one of these. But getting to Reston in rush hour from either Columbia (work) or College Park (home) is a real death slog and would mean I'd have to leave at something ridiculous like 4 if history is any indication.

    Not to mention 15 miles is like 10 more miles than I've accumulated this season total

    Great ride last night. Jeff, glad you could join us. You did really well on some tough, technical climbs! I hope you'll be able to make more of our rides.

    Yeah man! That was a lot of fun, I'll definately be there next wednesday. Also, I just ordered a new bigger pair of legs this morning, they should be here by monday Holy hell am I sore today, wooo!

    There is talk afoot of heading up to Sheaffer Farm this Sunday. Big E, this is much closer to your neck of the way, your nape of the woods. No excuses for not going!

    We'll probably head up for a pretty early morning ride if Shaeffer is open (depends on how much rain we get between now and Sunday).

    Jeff - if you liked the trails last night, you'd love Shaeffer Farms. Smooth fast singletrack, with a lot of fun log teepees to either go over or around (depending on how aggressive you're feeling). The nice thing about Shaeffer is that there are clear "go around" trails for each obstacle, so you can have a choice without losing your momentum.

    Hmm, might be interested in that, except for it being Mother's Day. Might be able to do morning, though. Keep me posted.

    Jeff and I rode at Shaeffer last September or so, I was supposed to be the "guide" and we ended up riding trails I didn't even know existed.

    Had fun at Schaeffer too! Don't think I'll be able to do a sunday morning, I'm usually working on the weekends. With a little advance notice I think I could do an afternoon session or so. Have fun this weekend! Oh, Slider, I'm gonna do a little research on tuning my bike up myself however, I may need your assistance should I fack it up too much I'll bring some brews....

    Anytime Jeff, I'll be happy to fuck your bike up....I mean help fix it. Heh. Adjusting the front derailleur is very easy, but adjusting the rear derailleur to prevent the ghost shifting takes a little more time. Still not super hard to do though - just a lot of tweak-ride-tweak-ride-tweak till you have it dialed in.
