Has anyone ever ordered stuff online from the Sports Den before?

I got the link to their website from one of the threads here, but haven't received any responses to emails about a question I have about an item. I'm looking to buy some Salomon 916 or 920s, but have questions about their weight and construction compared to the 914s.

The problem I'm having with my bindings is that I usually break at least one toepeice per year. I have spent the last 3 years switching between different bindings, and found Salomon to be the slightly more durable brand. The only problem I had with them was with the bolt that adjust the Spheric toepeice they have. I'd like to try the 916 or the 920 since they have a full toepeice, but am debating getting the standard bindings or the S Lab one. Are the S Lab bindings mountable on a non Salamon ski - they would be going on a Nordica Beast 92.

You want the one called "Equipe Comp". That ZZ thing can only be mounted on Salomon race skis.

Ordered a lid from them in the fall and it was done and dusted inside 10 days. And I'm in Europe...

916 is the same design as the old 997. 914 is mechanically similar, but with much more "composite" (plastic).

916 is much heavier than 914. That said, the reason is all-aluminum construction with very little plastic. Toe is all aluminum with independant wing adjustment. Heel uses worm screw instead of the tab used on retail bindings. Square brake base (you'll have to take apart the brakes and swap parts to fit wide brakes).

You want the Comp not the ZZ S-lab; ZZ S-lab is a Salomon-specific interface for race skis only. 920 differs from the 916 only by the spring (i.e., the DIN range). Given the choice, the 916 much more suitable for most people than the 920.

This is one of the burliest bindings you can buy. The stripping of the width adjustment screw you speak of is almost certainly caused by misadjustment. Be sure to get your new bindings correctly set up.

I like the 916; I have two pairs and never any issue. You may want to look at the Rossi 185 as well.
