Yeah, I depend on Ambien for reliable sleep. Because your ex had a problem I have a problem? Who is trolling what?

You kinda sound like spook where everything relates to your own world.

Here's what the Mayo Clinic says:

It's unlikely you'll become dependent on zolpidem (Ambien). Ambien and similar sleep medications are effective and much less likely to be habit-forming than some other drugs sometimes prescribed for sleep problems

What's with the lecturing?: "You'll get hooked!"

Is there anyone here that isn't aware of, or that doesn't understand, the precautions necessary for using any controlled substance. They all have legit uses, and I sincerely wonder why some people (AW) think that the users aren't aware of the drawbacks. Not that some people don't end up with problems, but I'm pretty sure it isn't because they didn't know it was possible.

But some people just like lecturing, I think they think it makes them look knowledgable.

Man, I take half a day off from this place to get some work done and this thread grows by 10 pages (and mostly off topic)?

I like my tomatoes crisp and cold, I always considered lettuce on a burger as sort of a heat shield.

Actually it says to only take for 1-2 days and no more than 1-2 weeks. Used as directed it's unlikely that it will become habit forming(that's what the Mayo site says). The Mayo website also says that it is habit forming and that you shouldn't stop taking it if you have been using it regularly because of withdrawal symptoms(sign of chemical dependence). It relates to my world because I had to research this in trying to get my ex to stop taking Ambien. There's a ton of info out there about Ambien(zolpidem) and how bad it is if taken for more than a very short time.

Well in this case it's because of 4matics comments on weed, alcohol and Ambien. He seems incredibly uninformed and/or is in denial of these/his issues. I wouldn't comment on this in this thread but is was ruined a long time ago. He thinks alcohol and Ambien are great but because he gets paranoid and couch locked when he smokes weed that it's bad. Doesn't make sense.

I don't think it makes me look knowledgable, it just means I can read.

Yeah, can't refute the recommendations and precautions of the drug manufacturer and the medical establishment so resort to some vague insult. Dipshit.

Spook like rhetoric. I had a one hour face to face and a full physical with my doctor to discuss my sleep issues and I'm supposed to take some guy with a crazy ex-wife seriously?

And maybe a 'divorce update' thread - it's gotten really hard to keep up with all the thread drifts.

It was sort of on topic when AW brought up his ex-wife addicted to Ambien.

It was on topic until you started berating spook about his weed usage. Hey, I was just pointing out that taking Ambien long term might not be good for you but carry on. I really don't care if you have a dependence on it.

Will the planned hemorrhoid spat upset Spook? Are they perhaps a little known side effect of his cultural violence syndrome or PTSD.. or just a symptom of being someone who you shouldn't rent a basement apartment from?

I'd agree that it's better than alcohol for OCCASIONAL use but it will fuck up your system more than weed. Why do you think the product literature and ads all say that Ambien is good for OCCASIONAL use for relief in sleep related issues? I'm not saying that you should use weed nightly either, fix the underlying problems. Exercise more and eat well and at the right times. Don't drink close to bed time.

I called spook on his comment about alcohol because he likes to huff the weed. Someone in spook's state has no business commenting on the detriment of alcohol vs weed.

i get it, man. you are ignorant and mean-spirited. you have plenty of company so it probably feels comfortable. it's amazing that you would mock something that is so clearly an epidemic that destroys millions of lives. mock me all you want, but laughing about ptsd with all the information available just shows what kind of person you are because it's obviously not just me. no skin off my nose but i have no idea why folks like you and 4matic have the need to badger people. it's unbecoming of your community.

it's not "huffing." it's also medical prescribed by a licensed doctor for specific severe symptoms that it clearly alleviates to some degree. my "state" as you say is a reflection of your complete ignorance on mental health. there is absolutely nothing that i do that prevents me from having a valid opinion about the detriment of regular alcohol use during a hyper stressful and emotional trauma. my perspective reflects most of medical science i think. i could be wrong. i've never heard of a modern doctor medically prescribe alcohol for some curative effect.

you're ancient and backward, 4matic. you have money and you think it makes you something you're not. suit yourself, but your completely wrong about a lot of things and if it weren't a subject that i feel personally compelled to talk about because of people like you, i wouldn't bother. hopefully, other people get more out of it.

I don't smoke weed, drink excessively, or take Ambien and I'm having a hard time following this thread. I can only imagine how those that do are managing.

I think the phrase "are managing" has been made verboten in this thread.... as it's blatantly discriminatory of those that aren't... you're obviously cruel and heartless probably also ancient and backwards.. or is it backward and then ancient... check with spook.
