Seriously DSO blows the doors off of DeadCo, it’s like not even close. Nostalgic money grab and nothing more. Glad to see them calling it quits.

I'm working three DSO shows next week, I'll report back. But honestly Mayer is a way better guitar player than Jerry in a bunch of ways based on what I saw last night.

FIFY. Jerry had to write those songs, not just reinterpret them.

John was pretty spectacular on the guitar last night. And I’m only talking about John, Jerry is dead. It’s ok to enjoy another artists work even though we know who the real mastermind was.

That said I’m not a fan of John Mayer. Except when he jams the big guy’s tunes in a way no one else has been able to.

Oteil is just freaking fun to watch jam. Brings a smile to my face to watch him having a blast up there.

I’ll be ordering another show for sure. They are playing well.

Which would be a scathing slam if Jerry hadn't played them like shit for years, and then threw it all away with drugs. I assume you don't play guitar?
Don't get me wrong, Jerry was and is the Godhead, the One. But what I saw last night was stupendous. On its own terms.

I’ve been enjoying all the people on social media gushing over Chementi this tour like he’s wearing the white jersey for best young rider. Dude has been balling on the scene since ‘97 with Ratdog.

Well shit, there is proof that I gave it all up about a year after Brent died.

I also preferred DSO to Dead Co, but the venues play a big factor in that statement.

To say Mayer is a "way" better guitar player is a reach. He's playing Jerry songs. What OG stuff has he played that is better than Jerry's OG? And I'd say Trey was better with Dead Co than Mayer.

Maybe ‘more precise’ (technically) is more what I mean. As I stated before, though, Jerry had that ‘Big Fat Soul’ that Mayer can’t touch. I actually wasn’t a fan of Trey in that role, he always felt like he was timid, (possibly a little nervous?) and still learning the material. However, if Trey had done 30 or 50 more shows, I am sure it would have clicked a bit more. Even Trey said as much.

It’s Snow King’s own production, they want to develop more shows up there at the top of the mountain. The old shows were in the ball field, which was not Snow King property. . I’m really not sure if Shannon is involved, I’ll ask Friday.

Saw the Sunday show at Fenway. I was pretty hyped they played the early version of 'They Love Each Other' which my wife and I insisted be played at our wedding.

I'm a pretty big John Mayer fan in general, but there are few people (maybe no one) who could slide into a roll like that and pull it off like he has. Talk about expectations.

Jay was with Rat Dog when they first became a trio with Wasserman and Weir. He's been around long enough to take the seat behind the kit. He was also with Primus.

Yeah, what I recall him saying was that he was not going to try and replicate Jerry and put his twist on it.
