Last night didn’t reach night 1 at alpine but I sure as shit had myself a fine evening.

Fist set really struggled. AL Getaway brought some steam. Bird Song was good but the rest was not great. Didn’t matter tho. I didn’t care much and I was pretty level last night.

No other way to explain how set 2 started other than to say it was shitty. The Weight plodded through to an Easy Answers. Why the hell did weir think that one should be brought back from dead?
Anyway, the Shakedown-Althea-China-Rider tore the house down! I saw a good number of Altheas back in the day and 3-4 from DeadCo. This one was hot! Crazy energy coming from all the guys. Crowd was electric. China Rider was outstanding too!

Fizzled out after drums space but nobody cared except for Weir who punched the mic! That stunt apparently fixed the busted mic and things rolled into the end of the night. Sugar mag was alright an always a crowd pleaser. Sat night encore didn’t have a ton of pop but again...nobody cared. All 30k of us had a blast.

Huh? Easy Answers came out of Music Never Stopped to open the show. And I thought it was really well executed. I was on my couch hearing it on XM. I thought it was a hot first set. Big River was killer. And the Bird Song was tasty.
I agree that opening a second set with The Weight is a huge mistake. It went nowhere. Shakedown to Drumz was excellent. Fell asleep during space. Didn’t catch the end of the show.
They sound good to me right now. They seem to be dialing in on the tempo. Everything is a little faster, less Bob influenced slow burn. Bummed there’s no fall tour.

My review was in no way attempting to sound bad. It was great. Just a little lack of energy from time to time on that night. The four song mid 2nd set run was wild!

I had a fantastic couple shows. Wish I could do more.

this is what pisses me off about fans that take it too seriously. same with Phish. Nerds that think their opinion matters. go buy another collectible comic book or another vinyl album that sounds so much better than the cd. get a life, get laid, shaddup

Haha. He had some of the same thoughts as I did but it makes a huge difference when you’re at a show. They could have played Easy Answers and Corrina over and over and I would have still had fun.

Easy Answers is harder on the eyes reading a setlist than it would be if I was at the party getting my groove on.

Just got a text from a friend who's got a extra ticket for tonight's show at Autzen. Was never a Mayer fan but from what I've heard it's pretty good.
