It was the beggars/choosers equation. With the few true wagons in the 'lightly used' market I had to nail down what my nice vs need to haves were. And manuals are getting to be like bigfoot - people say they exist, but you can't find 'em.

Yes to all three. '15, CPO, 18k miles, leather, all options except nav.

Interior space - and the shape of that space - really swayed me toward the volvo over the vw/audis, which were more fun to drive. That said, 300 hp is not bad.

I test drove some V60 CC wagons, and those sport seats are incredible. Obviously better styling too, but the sloped roofline goes against the wagon concept, and they had a lot of road noise compared to the 70.

No need to outsource, I've got specialist in-house.

At least the Element doesn't burn a metric fuckton of oil and eat head gaskets. I miss my old Impreza with the EJ22.

We don't have it any more, but probably still would if the back seat had a third seat belt. Don't miss the suicide doors, though. Never went all the way and broke out the hose myself, but she birthed our second child in the passenger seat. In-laws called a mobile auto cleaning service while we were at the hospital and you never would have known what happened in there.

And that's saying something! We are in the hospital today with our second - I know how messy it gets.

Put on the -1” rims and snow tires. FKNA liking this wagon. Pulls strong, uphill passing multiple vehicles at 75 mph is quick and painless. 35 mpg on hiway tankfulls with the all season tires.

All my Subaru friends who’ve been in the Alltrack are contemplating making the switch....costs are similar.

Well, I guess I may get in on this thread too after seeing all the wagon porn above. This allroad was a new addition to our family in July. Got the box and winter wheel/tire combo on a few weeks ago. Really digging this car so far. Fun to drive, handles like a champ in the snow and really decent mileage.

This fine vehicle has treated me well over the past ~10 years

But it was time to upgrade to a more suburban-paradise-weekend-warrior/soon-to-be-dad mobile

After a couple dozen commutes and a Moab trip, I think it's alright

Looked seriously at the new Allroad as well but the extra 7” length made it a bit tight in the garage, and the lack of manual was a downer. Definitely more usable space for 4 large adults vs the Golf versions.

What hiway mpg/range are you getting? EPA says 30 for the AR.

another lover of my volvo wagon
for being a dorky grocery getter it's fast AF

It's also a great vehicle if you like a civil disobedience here and there bc I feel that volvo owners are almost reverse profiled

I like the look of that Alltrack too Frorider. Good size and downright inexpensive for good looking AWD

Not sure what to expect of the MPG long term, but we’ve put 4800 miles on the car and the computer says we’re at 26.0. We’ve done two road trips totaling 800 miles, and we saw 38 MPG average on those. Coming from the pickup that the allroad replaced that got 15 MPG, saying I’m pleased is an understatement

    Wagon Stoke

    Bmills-
Those wheels are made by Velox which I got on a crazy good sale through Costco!! The model is Nirvana I believe. Didn’t want to shell out big $$ for fancy 18s just to run em in deicer all winter.

The box is a Thule Motion XT XL on factory bars and towers. Contemplating an upgrade to Aeroblade bars, but think I’ll run the stock for a while and see how it goes. The Thule Motion XT was the largest box that would fit without hatch interference (1/4” to spare). For reference, my 192 Protests fit up there with at least 3” to spare!

Thanks man! That’s exactly the info I was looking for, right down to will my 190s fit!

I’m debating doing the aero blade edges but wonder if the cleaner look is really worth the extra cost.

Was thinking about the Aeroblade bars for my wagon, but decided to get regular ones because they're longer and I can fit 3-4 bikes up top in summer

My alloys cost what the steels did, and for 2 cars steel wheels essentially didn’t exist.

    38 in a V90? AWD? It is a 90 not a 60 right?
