Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
Keep fixing those old cars. It’s worth it.
I hate folks that bitch about $3k in repairs every three years when that’s only 5 months payment on a new car.
Be more green. Keep the old girls on the road.
Kill all the telemarkers
But they’ll put us in jail if we kill all the telemarkers
Telemarketers! Kill the telemarketers!
Oh we can do that. We don’t even need a reason
Just pressed new bushings in all the control arms. I can't believe how well the original ball joints hold at 260k.

I had the DWS tires on the V70R because I liked the snow performance. A sidewall blew out on set 1 & 2 after about 20k miles forcing me to replace all 4 tires twice, when I had many miles left on them. No more Contis for me. The new AS tires recommended by Tire Rack are from Finland? and so far so good and worked well the snow last winter. Hopefully they last.

Bummer about the DWS. We’re on the second set on 2 different cars. Love them, and the guy who does our mounting/balancing does as well.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda
Really tempted to let my Alltrack go if that’s what the offers are looking like. Looking for a bigger car.

There’s a similar discussion in the trucks thread. The offer would be really tempting if I could think of something I’d rather have that wouldn’t result in a payment and a hike in my taxes.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.
I bought one with 66k and a stack of service records from the meticulous first owner last summer. I've only done routine maintenance after putting about 20k miles on it.
The timing chain and oil consumption can be an issue. Find one that's already had that work done or one that has had 5k oil change intervals.
Dang. That's bonkers. Carvana must be hard up for inventory judging by my local Carvana tower vending machine. It is seriously like over half empty right now. I've never seen it like that before. Guess since you have a stable of cars to tap into, you could do worse things than sell to them. I can't believe that's a dealer offer! Man, times have changed. I am NOT buying a used car any time soon. FML.
Bobby S had some good beta on the this insanity somewhere here lately.
I still call it The Jake.
My wife's CX3 lease is up soon. If it hadn't had a $20k repair after being t-boned by an uber driver running a light at three months in I'd be tempted to buy out the lease and sell it to the dealership.
Cutting down to a one car family for six months probably on the cards though since there hasn't been a time both cars were being driven at the same time during pandemic WFH.
Yup, lots of cars on Autotrader with an accident on the Carfax, just at a reduced price depending on the damage.

Again, see Bobby.

Woah, the used car market in wild. The Carvana offer for my 4Runner is over $1000 more than I paid for it when I bought it new.
