Word from the chosen...AK crew info...

KS just called. They are on thier way home and everyone is safe. Much killing of it was done. Some close calls were had. I guess the warming cycle got nasty and shit was moving bigtime. FYI...a drunk KS and shitty cell connection makes for a funny exchange.

    Talking

Talked with GT40 yesterday and apparently MD9 has to get another job now to pay for all the AK heli trips he will want to go on next year, and the year after and the...............

Story from GT was pretty cool.

Looking forward to some AK dickwaving.

Down here the idea of $70-$80 a run sounds expensive. When you are up there the price is IRRELEVANT. You will do anything to get up again.

    AMEX

I was with the head of Burton R and D when he droped 9-10 grand on his AMEX card for a group of us for the week. The credit card company had to call to verify....

It is crack, the three other times I was there I begged, borrowed and bartered for heli chips.

If you call yourself a true skier, once the AK crackpipe is lit, all you want is more of those fantasy lines.

Who's in for next year and how did Crinkz get spansered?

Theo, Bruce, Ed - all those guys - rock. I'll be going sometime soon, ubfinished biz up there

so true...my first trip i was like "500 a day??!! that's crazy" and my buddy (an AK veteran), was like, "dude, you have no frame of reference, its not like fighting for your ribbon of pow at Alpine. It's like heroin...once you do it, you are hooked" i didn't believe him, but had some $ at that time, and used it for a 5 day heli trip w/Coombs and Theo as opposed to buying a car....after the first day, never questioned the cost again....amazing place.

I was there with the crew, pretty insane, lots of action. Bruce, Theo, Sam all rule. Rendezvous heli ski is the only place to fly. While everyone was sitting still in (Valdez Heli Ski Guides/ H20/points north) ak, we were flying the goods. Billy mitchell, bowling ball, pick up sticks, proscuto, all great snow and sick lines.
This was my fourth trip up there and one of the best.
    We slayed it!!!

still shaking from the stoke withdrawal - there is no life like going to battle every morning with your best friends, nervously smiling and joking before getting after it.

Then, to get it done, and come back safely to the heli-port in the early evening alpenglow, knowing that the only thing between you and a halibut or steak dinner are a half dozen kokanees and some kind Alaskan herb, with plenty of hugs and high fives all around.

There is nothing like it in the world, except children.
