Thumbs down XP isn't seeing my dv on IEEE 1394...

This is so lame. Sometimes my computer doesn't see my dv plugged in on firewire, sometimes it does. Lately, not seeing it much at all. I'll try another camera soon, but after just buying more memory, and a 200 gb hard drive just for video editing, this is pretty damn disappointing.

Maybe your camera and/or computer is trying to tell you something.

Usually the first thing I check when my peripherals start going crazy-wack-funky is the connections. Other than that, might have to make a warranty claim.

You can buy a new firewire cable for whole lot less!! In fact, you will have to buy one anyways. Yours is toast.
