Huh? I read the possible side effects of Seroquel and Ambien. Both sound potentially fucked. I will see what the doc has to say.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

    FWIW:

I went through a bout of two months of pretty severe insomnia. Got over it about a month ago.

What finally solved it was getting back on SSRI medication (specifically escitlalopram). That’s an anti-anxiety/anti-depressant, but different class/mechanism of drug than Benzos.

I now take a single Zzzquil (same drug as Benedryl) half hour before sleep, and take 50mg of Trazodone when I wake up (once) in the night.

Now sleeping better than I have in over a decade. Never an issue falling asleep, and very rarely am awake more than once in the night, and that’s almost always brief.

    On this as well.
Seems to be a good overall regulator.

Went to that Hims site for some spray for my thinning hair. Took a survey for the anxiety sleep section thinking I’d get some non habit forming meds. They prescribed me Prozac!? From a questionnaire, didn’t talk to any doctor or anything. It shouldn’t be that easy.

Now I’m wondering if I accept the script and give it a try. Not sure if the side effects are worth it.

    That’s me, but 1:00 to 1:30.

Went through really bad insomnia in the summer.

Now take a Trazodone when I wake up in the night, go the the bathroom, right back in bed. Usually 15 minutes to fall asleep, no more than 30. Virtually never wake up again.

Also on an SSRI which was the biggest help, and take a Zzzquil before bed.

Have had insomnia a few nights this week - I typically ignore reasonable advice and turn on the tv as there are some quality offerings at 3am.

Perhaps for the Amuse You thread, but this has been playing each night - I watched it hoping it would put me to sleep.

You take Trazodone in the middle of the night when you wake up? Any issues the next day?

As a guy who works 24 hour shifts, the idea of "sleep hygene" or a sleep routine in my life is laughable. Its the worst part about the job. Some nights I sleep 2 hours, some nights I sleep 12.

What sucks the most (for me) though, is that I have the worst time sleeping on the nights that I need good sleep the most - the nights before work. Since I'm thinking about how much I need a good nights sleep that night, I get a shitty nights sleep. That sucks. I am always awake when my alarm goes off. No problem FALLING asleep, but I wake up at 3 or 4am and can't get back to sleep.

Have tried melatonin, trazodone, ambien, valerian, zzquil, benadryl, everything. All that shit knocks me out but I don't have a problem falling asleep!! Even Ambien, knocks me out but I'm still up at 4 What doesn't help me is, if I don't have to work, my "normal" sleep schedule is like 12:30 or 1am till 9ish (I'm a night owl). That certainly doesn't help the two nights a week when I'm trying to go to sleep at 11 and get up at 6...

Anyone heard of (or tried) Intermezzo? Its a low-dose, rapid-absorbing form of Ambien for middle-of-the-night wakefullness. Sublingual and 3.5mg

Yes, take one 50mg Trazodone, which I believe is a low dose. No issues in the morning at all.

When you guys figure out the solution, let me know. The last two nights I wake up at 2am to pee and take the pup out to pee. For sure awake until 3:30am and after that, maybe I fall asleep 30 minutes to wake back up again, rinse and repeat until 7am when the puppy nudges me to go out. The last 5 hours probably resulted in 2.5 hours sleep. Fucking sucks.

After everything I tried from government dispensaries I decide to go and buy off a store on Mohawk land. The prices are crazy cheap (not taxes) and their gummies are 500 - 1000mg and they knock me out. I do 100mg of hybrid and after the 5 hours of an amazing body stone I fall into a deep sleep but man do I wake up hungry.

Now I found out a friend grew up with someone that supplies to Native stores and his are 2000mg packs. Hardly any sugar, starch or whatever. It tastes like weed unlike most I have tried. Finally I'm sleeping again.

FWIW CBD and CBN work for a while then not so much after a month or so. IME its the THC has done more for me.

    Sounds interesting.
Can you explain further or share a link.
    I'd like to try that.
