Well title says it all. Saw a job opening in Rifle, just wonder what it's like.
Killing it with the 4-5 year old crowd!

I rip the groomed on tele gear
Get a sled.
It's Deep-in-Hola Colorado that's a surprisingly long drive from any skiable mountains. Enjoy.
been thru rifle a few times

Really close to a lot of great stuff. Not that great. Love it or leave it, Rifle is a Western Slope redneck town. I'm guessing you are in oil and gas so this is probably nothing new to you. If you are a ski area skier, it could be pretty rough. If you like dirt bikes, snowmobiles, backcountry everything, desert near by, hunting don't mind driving, could care less about what the Starbucks crowd thinks is "culture", it would be great. The RFV mags can probably speak to whether it has become a bedroom community for white folks yet.
Bottom line, I love the location but it ain't no ski town.
The gas well density is almost as high as the population density, which pretty much defines the culture there. Not bad people, just not much of a long term community feel.

Gravity Junkie
Lot's of Latinos, not many gringos on the frequent $10/90 minute bus ride to Aspen.
Was just there getting the sleds serviced.
It's really grown the last few, fuel driven years.
I'd probably live up toward Glenwood and commute.
Lots of outdoor activities in the area!
Live in glenwood springs & deal with the 45 minute commute so you can actually live in a nice place
