I spent a lot of time in the big banyan tree in front of the hotel......sad. What's left of their family now lives on those two houses up by themselves to the lookers' left of the hotel, and when Tutu (grandma) passes on, they might tear down those two and evict their relatives as well....too bad the hotels provide the economy and jobs or I would really hate them....

On a brighter note, this thread is tits! Some of the best photos I've seen in a while.
Yeah, I got the impression that whole island was repressed. Wasn't it once 98% owned by the Dole corporation (and is now owned by some other corp)? I was also told that the majority of the residents are of Philippine descent.
It's really a shame that practically the entire economy is based on those two hotels. On the positive side, it's a beautiful island and not commercialized or overdeveloped.

Well, if I'm not very much mistaken, it's then-A's catcher A.J. Hinch at Fenway in 1999! They played the A's at home in a 3-game set in mid-August, and I think it was probably a weekend series, because the next series was against Texas in Texas. So this would probably be the Friday night game- a 12-1 sox loss. Wall in left looks a lot different without those stands on it, and that big All-Star Game logo is ugly as hell.

I agree sunset shots are made by the clouds

    Framing is nice too

Now throw in somebody doing something and

then add bounce light from the snow behind you to get that fleeting moment

    Can't really beat it

I've never considered selling. Thanks for the props, though. A lucky shot-I was in the right place at the right time- and the lighting was perfect a la mother nature (ok, Nikon helped a little, too).
