I've never met anyone with a duct tape wallet that lasted 10 years. I call bullshit.

Just giving you guys some shit. I've used it a few times, it's in a drawer. I don't carry a wallet anymore, since there's no need. That's the problem I pointed out earlier. Some things I thought would be end of life, because they are well made, will be end of life because they've been supplanted by something else. I wear my "nice" watch to weddings and funerals for example.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America

Could also be that the first thing the lady friend said when she saw it was "why are the edges unfinished, did you get a blem?" The leather also has a bit of a torsional twist to it (i.e. it's a bifold, but when folded, the edges don't align with each other. I do like the RFID reader blocking feature, and that it's a leather interior too.

It definitely feels durable, it just isn't refined looking. And given I'm in a line of work where jeans and muddy boots are de rigueur, I need to class things up any way I can.
Give it a year or two. I've had the small bifold in chestnut for maybe 7 years now and it looks infinitely better than it did when it was new. The finish on a brand new one is fairly matte and unremarkable, but after years in my pockets and various sorts of abuse, it's developed a nice sheen and is far softer than it was new. It's the piece of Saddleback anything that I own, but I'm a fan.

Can you slip a passport into it? Like the front cover in a flap, for when it's handy.

Big skinny wallet. Going on 10 years and mine still looks new. Hate fat wallets. Minimalism at its best.

I have a 52 year old friend who has had the same velcro nylon wallet since he was 15. Lost and found twice. The velcro doesn’t really work any more.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

As a collector of vintage gear, Van's shoes, etc my experience has been that even when something's built to last a lifetime we grow tired of things. Newer designs, innovation, different features cause us to walk back that "forever" thought more often than not.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

I bet I have a couple hundred stamps somewhere. I’ve bought more than 1 roll that has been lost somewhere in the house and lots of sheets. I feel like I probably pay for 5 or 6 stamps for every one I use. Good thing I don’t mail much.

That’s kind of the whole point of the Bellroy. About the same size. I can’t see every day use as I’m s front pocket guy but it’s great for travel.

I'm 35, the only objects that I'd wager that I have (and remain functional) until I die are my cast iron skillets. One was an old one I bought at a thrift store. It's the best thing ever. The newer, larger one I sanded down until it's smooth and reseasoned, but it still isn't quite as good. Still nice though.

I'm sure some of my tools will probably make it, but i wouldn't bet on which they will be. Most are pretty cheap. If I actually wear them out then I'll consider buying better ones. I can't imagine I'd break my jack stands given their construction and how infrequently I use them, so I'll bet on them.

I can't imagine any of my wardrobe making it the hopeful 45+ years I have left, nor my shoes, though I resole the nicer ones. I also like energetic dogs. That lowers the possibility a bit.
