    Puerto Vallarta

Headed to PV for the 1st time at the end of the month. The fishing sounds like it will be ok mostly in the bay, not much big game out side. I think my plan is to try and rent a "panga" for a quick morning outing. Anybody have any insight or suggested captains down there?

    Cheers

I have fished there but I'm not an expert. You understand that Bahia de Banderas is huge. Lets start with this:

    a. where are you staying?
    b. do you have a car?
    c. fly fish, spinning gear, offshore?
    d. what type of fishing do you like?
    e. what's your budget?

    Staying in the marina
    No CAR
    spin gear or offshore
type of fishing im partial too. the offshore reports for april down there seem slow so i dont want to drop a few hundred bucks to drag up one fish, id rather spend half a day and chase the jack crevalle, snapper grouper, roosters etc

budget is super flexible. I have read reports of renting small center consoles with guides for like 35-40 an hour for inside the bay fishing with light tackle which sounds great. But, if the fishing out side of the bay and the long ride with 12-14 hour trip is worth im all in.

    I will take the suggestions!

If you are staying in the marina there is an Argentinean steakhouse that was awesome. I was there June 2011. It was busy then, but you know how restaurants can cycle in and out.
