Another Mount Washington thread from the weekend

I've been a little slow getting this together, but its a rainy April 20th.

Video 40 mb, Don on Dodge's, dudes on Dutchess, Ladies on Hillman's and in the bowl, Don on Right Right, me on the bottom of Empress.

Had a fun Saturday up at Mount Washington. It was amazing how quiet things were in Pinkham Notch. Tuckerman's is probably the best kept secret in New England... and no one really goes there because you have to hike to it.

Drove to AlyCrocker's Friday night w/ Don and met up with the rest of the crew. We were greeted with a Grouse that had taken itself out on a large window on the house.

We got to Pinkham and started hiking at the popular time of 9am. My pack was weighed down by some of the other's gear, but it helped us make better time to HoJos. Nice and warm out, sunnnay.

We reached Hermit Lake and hung out, watching the first relay teams and solo racers come through, earning some huge cheers. Festive atmosphere for sure.

Don and I led up Hillman's and did a lap down Dodge's Drop then caught up to the group as they reached the top of Hillman's. The ladies continued back down Hillman's while the dudemen skied Dutchess. Don and I cut over to Empress from Dutchess. Next we made our way to the bowl where half our group posed w/ Plake and some made another run. I was pretty spent and hung out w/ Crocker and and Nat. Back down Sherburne at the end of the day, back to the AlyC's, and back to Burlington in the morning. Beautiful day and quite fun, all while avoiding most of the madness that was going on. Glad the race went so well, H-man

Some pictures. Don took stills on Dodge's and I took video, then we swapped for the later runs.

Good stuff. One of these days I'll expand my Tucks repertoire and tackle Dodge's or Duchess (don't think I'll ever air our of Empress though).

Sick and ashamed and happy (and lotsa good Washington stoke going on),
