    Anyone watch it last night?

Celebrity Jeopardy killed it and had me in stitches.

Reminded me how funny the show used to be and how the current crop blows - they even kinda alluded to it.

Loved how theyade fun of Kanye, Wayne and Garth nailed it.

Why have Miley fucking Cyrus sing a Paul Simon song when Paul Simon is there?

    Overall funny show.

Oh, and Bill Murray is still the greatest.

Tuned in for a while and it was just blah blah blah hosts talking. So I gave up. Wanted to see sketches.

Some of it dragged on but overall solid. McCarthy as Farley was great. Seeing folks intermingle from different generations was great.

This. Every time I saw, it reminded me of an awards show...and those stink.

(Note: not gonna argue that skits from the 70s and 80s (and TheRapist) aren't funny as hell, just that the anniversary show didn't do it for me).

It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Do the denizens of the PR do anything other than watch TV? We ahve thread about broadcast golf, broadcast basketball, broadcast lacrosse, SNL, the Daily Show.

    Pretty edgy stuff, guys.

Sometimes we offer advice on how not to flip your car on the open road when prompted.

But we only learned about that via the internet so I guess that's no better than tv.

Overall, entertaining to see the multiple generations. I got the impression that Eddie Murphy really didn't want to be there. Paul Simon's voice has officially gone to shit.

Kinda bitter sweet watching. Especially Hartman and Farley bits and remembering 1st season and fuk I'm old.

Very impressed. Some felt a little flat but just seeing all that talent together was awesome.

Love theme from Jaws and Celebrity Jeopardy were my top bits. Hard to hit on everything even in 3.5 hours. Steve Martin and Seinfeld were funny for the first time in a while too.

Was hoping to see Eddie do something. It's hard to fathom how much he killed back then. Pretty clear from how much they kissed his ass they had to beg him just to show up. Disappointed not to see gumby or mr Robinson.

You're now Eeyore with Benny gone on vacation. You're off to a great start.

As far as suckage goes, I'd say the more recent years' casts have that cornered. Watching the old bits makes you realize that they could say a lot more funny stuff back then and people would laugh at it and more importantly themselves.

This current brand of humor is prefaced in an era of political correctness and snark which leaves very little left when your job is to make people laugh. For example look at how hysterically funny the old political skits were. Then somewhere around 2008 SNL's political humor crossed a line from satire and comedy to ideological-driven, borderline hate/demonizing skits. For example they used to skewer Clinton/Bush/HWBush/Carter/Ford/Gingrich... all in an equally hilarious manner. I have yet to see them do anything remotely funny about Obama and it's clear that they don't want to offend him/his followers/be called racist/etc/whatever.

Shit, look at the skit last night they showed where they switched out the whole control room for Jesse Jackson from white guys to black guys. They'd never do that these days, and Jesse was in on the bit!

That skit they showed Farley as Gingrich last night banging out the gavel in congress was gold! Completely forgot about that one.

I'm hurt, some asshole in the PR thinks poorly of me, because I don't buy into his TV-loving ways.

Far as I can tell, your internet existence consists of sitting in the flatlands and pretending to be cooler than you are. I'm not impressed.

Serious question: when you see what you think is a pile of shit, do you really feel like you need to take another shit right on top of it?
... jfost is really ignorant, he often just needs simple facts laid out for him...

jfost, you raise a fair question. Usually, the answer is no. There are a great many piles of shit on this here internet forum that I've left entirely alone. But this one was th eproverbial last straw. I mean, for god's sake, we had a thread abou tthe fucking Grammy's show recently. Do people really come to a gravity sports website to talk about television? I realize this is the PR, and folks can post whatever they want. Which also means other folks can say whatever we want about what those first folks post.

I fully realize that if I want there to be somethign other than crap on the board, I should post something other than crap. But I figure you don't really want to hear about what I'm doing at work (even though it's pretty cool from my perspective), so I'm left with pointting out the failures of others.

So, here's my serious point. If the most interesting thing you've done this weekend was watch TV, you probably don't really want to share that.
