Talked to my dad today, says corkie (my avatar) isn't doing so hot lately. She's still happy and runs (limps) around like a puppy, but has trouble keeping her food down. Dad says he's gonna try to find food that she can handle. Wish i could be at home to play with her, shes been a good dog and I can't believe she's lived so long (15 years!). any ideas about food for an old dog? other ideas in general for helping a poor old doggy out? thanks a lot

aww, sorry to hear about Corkie. What a cute dog. My dog Grunt (12 year old lab) isn't doing so well either- he's having trouble breathing, got fluid in his lungs. He's on medication for it but it's not helping very much. Maybe down to his last weeks/months.

He eats Science Diet canine senior- both the cereal and the canned soft stuff. We've fed all our dogs that and it's been good. Sorta expensive, but you might want to give it a try.

edit: Grunt also gets glucosamine/chondroitin supplements, a powder that goes in his food. It really helps with his stiffness, he doesn't limp around after he gets up from a nap when he's on it. You can get it real expensive from a vet or relatively cheap from a pet store.

Chicken, rice with some spinach. Yogurt mixed in with kibble 4 breakfast. The wife feeds the boys better than me sometimes. Chicken rice and spinach is pretty easy on their digestive tract. PM for more info when dog chef gets home from work.
