TR Retallack BC, Rico Mtn. 1st client ascent / descent (vid)

Having eyeballed this line for 4 years the pathetic snow year in BC was about to pay off in a BIG way. Unfortunately I had blown my ACL the day before we were to arrive at Retallack. The following is what transpired while I lounged about the lodge smokin BC's finest and keeping my hinge on ice. It's not as much fun editing video that you could have been in.

Nice vid. But that was all mellow powder. What's a first client descent?

Retallack is a Cat Skiing operation in BC. It's very rare to get to ski above treeline as usually it's far to dangerous due to the interior snowpack and the massive amounts of snow they get. They were the first group of clients to ever get the option to bootpack for the summits. The line in the vid is 5000 ft of vert ranging from 35 to 50 degrees. It was a line we'd drooled over every year so it was uber cool that they had the chance to bag it and bag it in style.

See, that was unclear. Now I understand why you're bummed you missed it.
