anyone leaning or deep in this, I recommend the quick read of truant's the universe doesn't give a flying fuck about you.

long story short, there's not one thing you do that will amount to anything outside your little circle(even Donald trump will be a nobody in history 50 years from now), so worrying about anything you want to do outside your little circle is pointless; impress yourself; that's most likely all you can do.

Trump is a nobody now. He's never done anything but impress himself.

But, people who've worked for the larger good of humanity *have* made a difference and will still be remembered 50 years from now.

So I'd say that unless you're willing to devote your entire life to humanitarian struggle then yeah, you're probably not going to make much of a difference to history.
