    Allegiant baggage measurement question-

Yo- any mags been hassled with the size of a 'personal item'? Specs call for like 17" max height, my favorite daypack is 19", but i'd be packing it lightly so could easily squish in to a 17" box or whatever. Do they get a fkn tape measure out or more like have a box or cage is has to fit in? I get that the 'personal item' has to fit under the seat, which this will no prob....Thanks for any insights---

Don't worry. If they make you unpack your "stuff", they'll use the indefinite article.

Dunno much/anything about Allegiant, but most airlines have a sign or a metal frame next to the gate that can be used to check the size of a carryon.

That said, while I've seen people be made to check their baggage because it wouldn't fit in the overhead or under the seat in front of them, I've never actually seen them check the dimensions at the gate.

I wouldn't think twice about it, you'll be fine.

Although they nickel and dime you you should be fine. I don't remember them being jerks about it.

Some discount airlines like Spirit, charge $100 to gate check.
    Rarely if any, are free.

i have not...just figured it was likely like most of the other airlines. Guess those discount fuckers might have a different attitude.

I cant find anything on their site or the interwebz that says they charge for gate check.

EDIT: WHOA...that airline is a rape artist..$35 for a CARRYON? WTF?......

Just wear all of your clothing.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

So your posting with no knowledge and you'll continue to do so? See below.

Price out the whole flight with a carry on and it's significantly cheaper than every flight I can get from here. If they fly direct it saves me from having connect in SLC, Denver, etc.

That airline flies some funky routes, damn. I didn't know half those places had airports. But if I ever need to fly from Ogden to Phoenix I know who to talk to now.

I can see Idaho Falls, but is it really that hard to drive from Odgen to SLC?

The trouble with the ultra discounters, is lack of equipment. If they have a mechanical, it disrupts the entire system. Good luck getting home, when they cancel your once a week flight.

Yup, IF, you called it. $94 r/t. And ya, the mechanical issue delay would suck big time.

I got hassled by American the last time I flew. They made me demonstrate that my carry on fit in the little cage by the gate.

Your fine. Why worry if it can scrunch down anyway? I bet they're more worried about weight. Last time I flew allegiant they did a head count of all the adults to make sure they had enough fuel to make it all the way to Vegas. I guess they have to burn a lot of fuel to take off from Loveland airport if it weighs too much. I felt like I was taking off from an aircraft carrier
