    Striking Against a Union?

There is a Teamsters Union building next to my office and there are people picketing out front. Aren't unions supposed to strike against big bad companies rather than being the company being "striked" against.

Different locals can actually picket against each other. Unions are just a scam to make the Union officials wealthy.

I hear you there. I am in a Science Professionals union, which is affiliated with AFT (American Federation of Teachers I believe). AFT wanted to jack up our dues twice in six months while helping us negotiate a 0 and 1 percent raise over two years with an increase in health insurance. If the dues increase wasn't bad enough for the crappy negotiations they wanted to hire a PR person while we were facing layoffs. I hate my union and this is coming from a person who grew up with a father who is a loyal union member. Although to be fair his union has done some very good things for their workers.
