Google can host your video stoke!

Google has launched another Beta service. This time it is a video upload service. They will host your video content and even allow you to charge for downloads.

I'm testing it now, I have some videos (sportbike related) I'll be putting up, and I also have some various skiing videos, mostly stoke from mags that I can put up, but I'll have to make sure that all copyright issues are covered -- don't want to upset anyone, and especially don't want to fail to give someone do credit.

The file size as well as the total capacity of the account appears to be unlimited, which is pretty interesting. The rules are no porn, no obscene material, and no copyright infringement. According to Google, they may view material to determine whether or not is appropriate and they will let you know if it is not. You do need to download an uploader program from google in order to use the service.

Definitely go for it, I'd like to watch those myself -- the registration process honestly took no more than 2 minutes, I was uploading videos in under 3 minutes. However, if any mags aren't interested in going through the hassle of uploading skiing related stoke, feel free to PM me and I can do it for you.

I didn't spend very long reading the fine print, the only thing I'm waiting to find out is whether or not there are bandwidth limitations, who knows, this may prove to be an awesome resource for the board...although there aren't too many movies on TGR, when there are I'm sure whoever hosts them takes a huge hit on bandwidth.

EDIT -> Phunk, that was a pretty big disappointment, but then again I'd wager most videos will be infringing on copyright laws, unless some mags are uploading amateur material

Looks like videos are not available for download yet, at all; if you go to video.google.com and search, you can see how results come up. Google says, in the long run, you'll be able to make your videos available for download, (as stated, either for free, or for money), but it looks like they are just in the acquisition stage now...

Damn, Red Baron is correct. I finished uploading all of my videos, and entered the information required for Google to verify them -- and it says they will be available for download shortly. However, if you actually go read the info provided, they say they are currently in the first stage of implementing the video upload program (uploads only), and will notify you once they verify the video and make it available for download.

Regardless, I'll still see if I have some TGR stoke videos to put up.
