I don't wanna jinx it but I was wondering if I should head up or not for one last day.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy. Chance of snow. Snow accumulation 2 inches. Probability of measurable precipitation 40 percent. Southwest wind 13 gusting to 21 mph. Low 17.

Friday: Snow. Snow accumulation 2 inches. Probability of measurable precipitation 60 percent. Southwest wind 21 gusting to 23 mph. High 29.

Friday Night: Snow. Snow accumulation 4 inches. Probability of measurable precipitation 70 percent. Low 22.

Saturday: Snow. Snow accumulation 3 inches. Probability of measurable precipitation 90 percent. High 29.

Saturday Night: Snow showers. Snow accumulation 1 inch. Probability of measurable precipitation 70 percent. Low 22.

    Question awaiting totals

I'm uncommitted for the weekend so far, but the forecast looks EXCELLENT!

Radar is running from Blackcomb to Baker to Crystal. Pending on forecasts freezing levels, and snowfall- I'll be at one of those places this weekend

But Saturday is looking pretty good for some heavy rain in Seattle starting on Friday into Saturday night

    April Winter kicks ass.

I'm limited to Xtal or Alpie with an admitted p-reefer-ence for the Silver Court. Likely Saturday, likely first chair, per default.

I am debating between skiing and riding bikes this weekend. Unless there is a super rad dumpage going on at either Baker or Crystal, I will be kickin it at Tiger's opening this saturday.

After ripping it up all day at Alpental, since Tiger IS on the way home k (that is unless you are just getting in shape for your Tahiti beach vacation?)

If you can resist this, can you call yourself a skier?

DAMMIT!!!!!!! Don't DO that to me!

And no, my decision to ski or bike has NOTHING to do with where I will be the day after graduation. My decision has to to do with a VERY expensive check that I just wrote to pay for my bar review, oh and that little thing that is going to be happening (hopefully) one month from tomorrow- GRADUATION! I want out of this freaking school already!

In other news...I like that the Base Cam on Crystal's web page is pointing at the King. That is pretty and happy and good.

If it's soft, think of the trees and Silver Basin.
If there's dust on crust, let's tour to Morse Creek or Crystal Lakes.

Joe's High Nowhere? Any relation to Eddie's High Nowhere @ Alta

Buster, I'm also looking for some pics taken from Green Valley (Kelly Gap or Right Angle specifically) that are of East Peak. Got a little project and need to get some pics shot from that direction.

I would definitely like to ski Xtal this weekend, but Baker DID GET 15" since Monday.....so..... All I know is I'm leaving work right now and only have two more long days of cubicle hell until I can git some.

Sadly, I'd really like to ski Alpental this weekend- but due to our 'lack thereof' season- I'm going where the snow is best.

first off, I am an idiot for leaving the digi cam in the car because Crystal was bluebird cold (at least for a while) deep and midweek good today.
Got to the 6pack right before they loaded, saw a line of 12 people waiting... nice for a change... and scooted straight ove to the doors. Founnd 4-6" of new fallen and blown in goodness on top of a firm crust. Just let 'rm run and it's like flying I swear. Tried some other fromtside variableness and got a call from west face... "your expected ASAP please" "right away!" Mached turns down through the butter, and was not surprised to find it getting deeper.

The rest of the morning was spent rinki dinking and booting the shoulder above GV... got 4 runs in above the traverse and then bombed all of them over to grubstake to find more YES MORE untracked goodness. Finally nailed the million dollar shoot over there, as well as some more technical lines at the top of the bowl. Also found a new line off the top of GV into spook bowl. Squirrel you need to see this stuff, you'd love it! As a side, I skiied as well today as I ever have and of course no one was there to see it I found myself looking down at the goodness and just saying just GO already, and it felt good to push my limits. You know the one... "There's gotta be a white space down below... I can feel it" And then it opens up. What a feeling.

Hydrated at the swanky bazillion dollar new 1/2 way lodge and finished off the morning billygoating (damn rocks) 3 or four more down the sweetly spaced trees under 6. Campbell basin was pretty hammered, but no-one was taking the time to traverse back under the chair. Saw two or three MachLooney lines down the king and a nasty slide on Pinball (is that skiers left off the top?

All in all I was stoked to charge around by myself all morning, and sort of start to get my ski legs back inder me. It was cold 'til 11 or so and snowing when I left at 2. midweek skiing...and a full day pay... mmm hmm

    See you Saturday.

and I kan spell gud too

    Nice,

    Carpe Skiem.

Here's the snow levels for this weekend from nwac.

    2-3000 ft N, 35-4500 ft S Friday morning
    3-4000 ft N, 55-6500 ft S Friday afternoon
45-5500 ft N, 65-7500 ft S Friday night and early Saturday
    3-4000 ft N, 35-4500 ft S Saturday afternoon
2-3000 ft N, 3-4000 ft S Saturday night and Sunday

    If'n I go, it'll be sunday.

Have fun you people who can ski baker on friday. Don't blow it.

I had a feeling, when I was exiting damn fine forest, that that beautiful deep gift of a run was my last. I was lucky to get those two days of reopening two weeks ago.

I may have to bag it if it gets too warm and rainy up to the bottom or beyond of rex.
